Uthman bin Abi Al-Walid said: I heard 'Urwah bin Az-Zubair say: Aishah used to narrate that he Prophet of Allah said: The hand (of the thief) should not be cut off except for a shield or its equivalent in value. And he said that 'Urwah said: A shield is (worth) four Dirhams. And he (the narrator) said: I heard sulaiman bin Yasar say that he heard 'Amrah say: I heard 'Aishah narrate that she heard the Messenger of Allah say: The hand (of the thief) should not be cut off except for four Dinars or more.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا روایت کرتی ہیں کہ

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ہاتھ صرف ڈھال یا اس کی قیمت میں کاٹا جائے گا“۔ راوی عثمان بن ابی الولید بیان کرتے ہیں کہ عروہ نے کہا: ڈھال چار درہم کی ہوتی ہے۔ عثمان کہتے ہیں: میں نے سلیمان بن یسار کو بیان کرتے ہوئے سنا کہ انہوں نے عمرہ کو کہتے ہوئے سنا کہ میں نے عائشہ کو بیان کرتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ ہاتھ صرف چوتھائی دینار یا اس سے زیادہ میں کاٹا جائے گا۔
