سنن ابوداؤد

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے ان سے بیان کیا کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم چار چیزوں کی وجہ سے غسل کرتے تھے: جنابت سے، جمعہ کے دن، پچھنا لگوانے سے اور میت کو غسل دینے سے ۱؎۔

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to take a bath on account of sexual defilement, on Friday, for cupping and washing the dead.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جو میت کو نہلائے اسے چاہیئے کہ خود بھی نہائے، جو جنازہ کو اٹھائے اسے چاہیئے کہ وضو کر لے ۱؎ ۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: He who washes the dead should take a bath, and he who carries him should perform ablution.

ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث منسوخ ہے، میں نے احمد بن حنبل سے سنا ہے: جب ان سے میت کو غسل دینے والے کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو انہوں نے کہا: اسے وضو کر لینا کافی ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: ابوصالح نے اس حدیث میں اپنے اور ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے درمیان زائدہ کے غلام اسحاق کو داخل کر دیا ہے، نیز مصعب کی روایت ضعیف ہے اس میں کچھ چیزیں ہیں جن پر عمل نہیں ہے۔

The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Abu Hurairah through a different chain of narrators to the same effect. Abu Dawud said: This has been abrogated. When Ahmad bin Hanbal was asked about a man taking a bath after his washing the dead, I heard him say: Ablution is sufficient for him. Abu Dawud said: The narrator Abu Salih made a mention of the narrator Ishaq, the client of Zaidah between him and Abu Hurairah. He said: The tradition of Musab is weak. It contains many things that are not practised.
