سنن ابوداؤد

میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم، ابوبکر اور عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کو جنازے کے آگے چلتے دیکھا ہے۔

Salim reported on the authority of his father: I saw the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and Abu Bakr and Umar walking before the funeral.

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: سوار جنازے کے پیچھے چلے، اور پیدل چلنے والا جنازے کے پیچھے، آگے دائیں بائیں کسی بھی جانب جنازے کے قریب ہو کر چل سکتا ہے، اور کچے بچوں ۱؎ کی نماز جنازہ پڑھی جائے اور ان کے والدین کے لیے رحمت و مغفرت کی دعا کی جائے ۔

Narrated Al-Mughirah ibn Shubah: (I think that the people of Ziyad informed me that he reported on the authority of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم: A rider should go behind the bier, and those on foot should walk behind it, in front of it, on its right and on its left keeping near it. Prayer should be offered over an abortion and forgiveness and mercy supplicated for its parents.
