سنن ابوداؤد

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ عزوجل کا فرمان ہے: بڑائی ( کبریائی ) میری چادر ہے اور عظمت میرا تہ بند، تو جو کوئی ان دونوں چیزوں میں کسی کو مجھ سے چھیننے کی کوشش کرے گا میں اسے جہنم میں ڈال دوں گا ۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Allah Most High says: Pride is my cloak and majesty is my lower garment, and I shall throw him who view with me regarding one of them into Hell.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: وہ شخص جنت میں داخل نہیں ہو سکتا جس کے دل میں رائی کے برابر کبر و غرور ہو اور وہ شخص جہنم میں داخل نہیں ہو سکتا جس کے دل میں رائی کے برابر ایمان ہو ۔

Narrated Abdullah (bin Masud): The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: He who has in his heart as much pride as much pride as grain of mustard-seed will not enter paradise. And he who has in his heart as much faith as grain of mustard-seed will not enter Hell. Abu Dawud said: Al-Qasmali has transmitted it from Al-Amash in a similar way.

ایک شخص نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا، وہ ایک خوبصورت آدمی تھا اس نے آ کر عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! مجھے خوبصورتی پسند ہے، اور مجھے خوبصورتی دی بھی گئی ہے جسے آپ دیکھ رہے ہیں یہاں تک کہ میں نہیں چاہتا کہ خوبصورتی اور زیب و زینت میں مجھ سے کوئی میری جوتی کے تسمہ کے برابر بھی بڑھنے پائے، کیا یہ کبر ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: نہیں بلکہ کبر یہ ہے کہ حق بات کی تغلیط کرے، اور لوگوں کو کمتر سمجھے ۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah: A man who was beautiful came to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He said: Messenger of Allah, I am a man who likes beauty, and I have been given some of it, as you see. And I do not like that anyone excels me (in respect of beauty). Perhaps he said: even to the extent of thong of my sandal (shirak na'li) , or he he said: to the extent of strap of my sandal (shis'i na'li) . Is it pride? He replied: No, pride is disdaining what is true and despising people.
