سنن ابوداؤد

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: مجھ پر میری امت کے ثواب پیش کئے گئے یہاں تک کہ وہ تنکا بھی جسے آدمی مسجد سے نکالتا ہے، اور مجھ پر میری امت کے گناہ پیش کئے گئے تو میں نے دیکھا کہ اس سے بڑا کوئی گناہ نہیں کہ کسی کو قرآن کی کوئی سورت یا آیت یاد ہو پھر وہ اسے بھلا دے ۔

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: The rewards of my people were presented before me, so much so that even the reward for removing a mote by a person from the mosque was presented to me. The sins of my people were also presented before me. I did not find a sin greater than that of a person forgetting the Quranic chapter or verse memorised by him.
