سنن ابوداؤد

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص مسجد میں آئے تو اسے چاہیئے کہ وہ بیٹھنے سے پہلے دو رکعتیں ( تحیۃ المسجد ) پڑھ لے ۔

Haiwah bin Shuraih reported: I met Uqbah bin Muslim and said to him: it has been reported to me that someone has narrated to you from the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم that when he entered the mosque, he would say: I seek refuge in Allah, the Magnificent, and in His noble face, and in his eternal domain, from the accursed Devil. He asked: is it so much only? I said: Yes. He said: when anyone says so. The devil says: he is protected from me all the day long.

مرفوعاً مروی ہے، اس میں اتنا زیادہ ہے کہ پھر اس کے بعد چاہے تو وہ بیٹھا رہے یا اپنی ضرورت کے لیے چلا جائے۔

This tradition has been narrated by Abu Qatadah through a different chain of transmitters to the same effect from the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. This version adds: then he may remain sitting (after praying two RAKAHS) or may go for his work.
