سنن ابوداؤد

ان کے والد مغرب میں ایسی ہی سورۃ پڑھتے تھے جیسے تم پڑھتے ہو مثلاً سورۃ العادیات اور اسی جیسی سورتیں۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث اس بات پر دلالت کرتی ہے کہ وہ ۱؎ حدیث منسوخ ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یہ روایت زیادہ صحیح ہے۔

HIsham bin Urwah said that his father (‘Umrah) used to recite the surahs as you recite like Wa’l-Adiyat (surah c). Abu Dawud said: This indicates that those (traditions indicating long surahs) are abrogated, and this is more sound tradition.

مفصل ۱؎ کی چھوٹی بڑی کوئی سورت ایسی نہیں جسے میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے فرض نماز میں لوگوں کی امامت کرتے ہوئے نہ سنا ہو۔

Amr bin Shuaib, on his father’s authority, quoted his grandfather as saying: There is no short or long surah in al-Mufassal which I have not heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم reciting when he led the people in the prescribed prayer.

انہوں نے ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کے پیچھے مغرب پڑھی تو انہوں نے «قل هو الله أحد» پڑھی۔

Abu Uthman al-Nahdl said that he offered the sunset prayer behind Ibn Masud, when he recited “Say: He is Allah, the One” (Surah 112).
