سنن ابوداؤد

میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا: وتر حق ہے ۱؎ جو اسے نہ پڑھے وہ ہم میں سے نہیں، وتر حق ہے، جو اسے نہ پڑھے ہم میں سے نہیں، وتر حق ہے، جو اسے نہ پڑھے ہم سے نہیں ۔

Narrated Buraydah ibn al-Hasib: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: The witr is a duty, so he who does not observe it does not belong to us; the witr is a duty, so he who does not observe it does not belong to us; the witr is a duty, so he who does not observe it does not belong to us.

بنو کنانہ کے ایک شخص نے جسے مخدجی کہا جاتا تھا، شام کے ایک شخص سے سنا جسے ابومحمد کہا جاتا تھا وہ کہہ رہا تھا: وتر واجب ہے، مخدجی نے کہا: میں یہ سن کر عبادہ بن صامت رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس گیا اور ان سے بیان کیا تو عبادہ نے کہا: ابو محمد نے غلط کہا، میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا ہے: پانچ نمازیں ہیں جو اللہ نے بندوں پر فرض کی ہیں، پس جس شخص نے ان کو اس طرح ادا کیا ہو گا کہ ان کو ہلکا سمجھ کر ان میں کچھ بھی کمی نہ کی ہو گی تو اس کے لیے اللہ کے پاس جنت میں داخل کرنے کا عہد ہو گا، اور جو شخص ان کو ادا نہ کرے گا تو اس کے لیے اللہ کے پاس کوئی عہد نہیں، اللہ چاہے تو اسے عذاب دے اور چاہے تو اسے جنت میں داخل کرے ۱؎۔

Narrated Ubadah ibn as-Samit: Ibn Muhayriz said: A man from Banu Kinanah, named al-Makhdaji, heard a person called Abu Muhammad in Syria, saying: The witr is a duty (wajib). Al-Makhdaji said: So I went to Ubadah ibn as-Samit and informed him. Ubadah said: Abu Muhammad told a lie. I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: There are five prayers which Allah has prescribed on His servants. If anyone offers them, not losing any of them, and not treating them lightly, Allah guarantees that He will admit him to Paradise. If anyone does not offer them, Allah does not take any responsibility for such a person. He may either punish him or admit him to Paradise.
