سنن ابوداؤد

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایک بار ہمارے پاس مسجد میں تشریف لائے، آپ کے ہاتھ میں ایک چھڑی تھی، ایک شخص نے خراب قسم کی کھجور کا خوشہ لٹکا رکھا تھا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس خوشہ میں چھڑی چبھوئی اور فرمایا: اس کا صدقہ دینے والا شخص اگر چاہتا تو اس سے بہتر دے سکتا تھا ، پھر فرمایا: یہ صدقہ دینے والا قیامت کے روز «حشف» ( خراب قسم کی کھجور ) کھائے گا ۔

Narrated Awf ibn Malik: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم entered upon us in the mosque, and he had a stick in his hand. A man hung there a bunch of hashaf. He struck the bunch with the stick, and said: If the owner of this sadaqah (alms) wishes to give a better one than it, he would give. The owner of this sadaqah will eat hashaf on the Day of Judgment.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے صدقہ فطر صائم کو لغو اور بیہودہ باتوں سے پاک کرنے کے لیے اور مسکینوں کے کھانے کے لیے فرض کیا ہے، لہٰذا جو اسے ( عید کی ) نماز سے پہلے ادا کرے گا تو یہ مقبول صدقہ ہو گا اور جو اسے نماز کے بعد ادا کرے گا تو وہ عام صدقات میں سے ایک صدقہ ہو گا۔

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم prescribed the sadaqah (alms) relating to the breaking of the fast as a purification of the fasting from empty and obscene talk and as food for the poor. If anyone pays it before the prayer (ofEidd), it will be accepted as zakat. If anyone pays it after the prayer, that will be a sadaqah like other sadaqahs (alms).
