CHAPTER: Visiting Graves.
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: If any one of you greets me, Allah returns my soul to me and I respond to the greeting.
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Do not make your houses graves, and do not make my grave a place of festivity. But invoke blessings on me, for your blessings reach me wherever you may be.
Narrated Rabiah ibn al-Hudayr: Rabiah ibn al-Hudayr said: I did not hear Talhah ibn Ubaydullah narrating any tradition from the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم except one tradition. I (Rabiah ibn Abu Abdur Rahman) asked: What is that? He said: We went out along with the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم who was going to visit the graves of the martyrs. When we ascended Harrah Waqim, and then descended from it, we found there some graves at the turning of the valley. We asked: Messenger of Allah, are these the graves of our brethren? He replied: Graves of our companions. When we came to the graves of martyrs, he said: These are the graves of our brethren.
Nafi reported on the authority of Abdullah bin Umar “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم made his Camel kneel down at Al Batha which lies in Dhu Al Hulaifa and prayed there. Abdullah bin Umar too used to do so. ”
Narrated Malik: One should not exceed al-Muarras when one returns to Madina until one prays there as much as one wishes, for I have been informed that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم halted there at night. Abu Dawud said: I heard Muhammad bin Ishaq al-Madini say: Al-Muarras lies at a distance of six miles from Madina.
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم visited his mother's grave and wept and cause those around him to weep. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم then said: I asked my Lord's permission to pray for forgiveness for her, but I was not allowed. I then asked His permission to visit her grave, and I was allowed. So visit graves, for they make one mindful of death.
Narrated Buraidah: The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: I forbade you to visit graves, but you may now visit them, for in visiting them there is a reminder (of death).
