سنن ابوداؤد

رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان کے پاس تشریف لائے، ان کے پاس ایک شخص بیٹھا ہوا تھا، ( حفص کی روایت میں ہے ) آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ بات ناگوار گزری، آپ کا چہرہ متغیر ہو گیا ( پھر حفص اور شعبہ دونوں کی روایتیں متفق ہیں ) عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول یہ تو میرا رضاعی بھائی ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اچھی طرح دیکھ لو کون تمہارے بھائی ہیں؟ کیونکہ رضاعت تو غذا سے ثابت ہوتی ہے ۱؎ ۔

Aishah said the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم visited her when a man was with her. The narrator Hafs said “this grieved him and he frowned”. The agreed version then goes, She said “He is my foster brother Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم”. He said “Consider, who are you brethren, for fosterage is consequent on hunger. ”

رضاعت وہی ہے جو ہڈی کو مضبوط کرے اور گوشت بڑھائے، تو ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: اس عالم کی موجودگی میں تم لوگ ہم سے مسئلہ نہ پوچھا کرو۔

Abd Allaah bin Masud said “Fosterage is not valid except by what strengthens love and grows flesh. ” Abu Musa said “Do not ask us so long as this learned man is among us”

لیکن اس میں: «شد العظم» کے بجائے «أنشز العظم» کا لفظ ہے۔

The aforesaid tradition has also been narrated by Ibn Masud through a different chain of narrators and to the same effect from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. This version has the words anshaz al-‘azma meaning which nourishes bones and makes them sturdy and vigorous.
