سنن ابوداؤد

ایک کنواری لڑکی نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئی اور اس نے عرض کیا کہ اس کے والد نے اس کا نکاح اس کی مرضی کے بغیر کر دیا ہے، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے اختیار دیا ۱؎۔

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: A virgin came to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and mentioned that her father had married her against her will, so the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم allowed her to exercise her choice.

ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اس روایت میں ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کا ذکر نہیں ہے، اس روایت کا اسی طرح لوگوں کا مرسلاً روایت کرنا ہی معروف ہے۔

The above tradition has been transmitted by Ikrimah from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Abu Dawud said “He (Muhammad bin Ubaid) did not mention the name of Ibn Abbas in the chain of this tradition. The people have also narrated it mursal (without the mention of the name of Ibn Abbas) in a similar way. Its transmission in the mursal form is well known.
