سنن ابوداؤد

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: رمضان سے ایک دن یا دو دن پہلے روزہ نہ رکھو، ہاں اگر کوئی آدمی پہلے سے روزہ رکھتا آ رہا ہے تو وہ ان دنوں کا روزہ رکھے ۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: Do not fast one day or two days just before Ramadan, except in the case of a man who has been in the habit of observing the particular fast, for he may fast on that day.

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سال میں کسی مہینے کے مکمل روزے نہ رکھتے سوائے شعبان کے اسے رمضان سے ملا دیتے تھے ۱؎۔

Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Muminin: She never saw the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم fasting the whole month except Sha'ban which he combined with Ramadan.
