صحیح بخاری

معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں ہمارے درمیان یہ فیصلہ کیا تھا کہ آدھا بیٹی کو ملے گا اور آدھا بہن کو۔ پھر سلیمان نے جو اس حدیث کو روایت کیا تو اتنا ہی کہا کہ معاذ نے ہم کنبہ والوں کو یہ حکم دیا تھا یہ نہیں کہا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں۔

Narrated Al-Aswad: Mu`adh bin Jabal gave this verdict for us in the lifetime of Allah's Apostle. One-half of the inheritance is to be given to the daughter and the other half to the sister. Sulaiman said: Mu`adh gave a verdict for us, but he did not mention that it was so in the lifetime of Allah's Apostle.

میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے فیصلہ کے مطابق اس کا فیصلہ کروں گا، لڑکی کو آدھا، پوتی کو چھٹا اور جو باقی بچے بہن کا حصہ ہے۔

Narrated Huzail: `Abdullah said, The judgment I will give in this matter will be like the judgment of the Prophet, i.e. one-half is for the daughter and one-sixth for the son's daughter and the rest of the inheritance for the sister.
