صحیح بخاری

کہ جب تم اذان سنو تو جس طرح مؤذن کہتا ہے اسی طرح تم بھی کہو۔

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Allah's Apostle said, Whenever you hear the Adhan, say what the Mu'adh-dhin is saying

انھوں نے معاویہ بن ابی سفیان سے ایک دن سنا آپ ( جواب میں ) مؤذن کے ہی الفاظ کو دہرا رہے تھے۔ «أشهد أن محمدا رسول الله» تک۔ ہم سے اسحاق بن راہویہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے وہب بن جریر نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے ہشام دستوائی نے یحییٰ بن ابی کثیر سے اسی طرح حدیث بیان کی۔

Narrated `Isa bin Talha: that he had heard Muawiya repeating the words of Adhan up to Wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasulul-lah (and I testify that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle.)

جب مؤذن نے «حى على الصلاة‏» کہا تو معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے «لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله‏» کہا اور کہنے لگے کہ ہم نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ایسا ہی کہتے سنا ہے۔

Narrated Yahya as above (586) and added: Some of my companions told me that Hisham had said, When the Mu'adh-dhin said, Haiyi `alassala (come for the prayer). Muawiya said, La hawla wala quwata illa billah (There is neither might nor any power except with Allah) and added, We heard your Prophet saying the same.
