صحیح بخاری

میں ان ( کوفہ والوں ) کو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی طرح نماز پڑھاتا تھا۔ ظہر اور عصر کی دونوں نمازیں، کسی قسم کا نقص ان میں نہیں چھوڑتا تھا۔ پہلی دو رکعتیں لمبی پڑھتا اور دوسری دو رکعتیں ہلکی۔ تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ مجھ کو تم سے امید بھی یہی تھی۔

Narrated Jabir bin Samura: Sa`d said, I used to pray with them a prayer similar to that of Allah's Apostle (the prayer of Zuhr and `Asr) reducing nothing from them. I used to prolong the first two rak`at and shorten the last two rak`at. `Umar said to Sa`d This was what we thought about you.

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ظہر کی پہلی دو رکعتوں میں سورۃ فاتحہ اور ہر رکعت میں ایک ایک سورت پڑھتے تھے، ان میں بھی قرآت کرتے تھے لیکن آخری دو رکعتیں ہلکی پڑھاتے تھے کبھی کبھی ہم کو بھی کوئی آیت سنا دیا کرتے تھے۔ عصر میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سورۃ فاتحہ اور سورتیں پڑھتے تھے، اس کی بھی پہلی دو رکعتیں لمبی پڑھتے۔ اسی طرح صبح کی نماز کی پہلی رکعت لمبی کرتے اور دوسری ہلکی۔

Narrated `Abdullah bin Abi Qatada: My father said, The Prophet in Zuhr prayers used to recite Al-Fatiha along with two other Suras in the first two rak`at: a long one in the first rak`a and a shorter (Sura) in the second, and at times the verses were audible. In the `Asr prayer the Prophet used to recite Al-Fatiha and two more Suras in the first two rak`at and used to prolong the first rak`a. And he used to prolong the first rak`a of the Fajr prayer and shorten the second.

کیا نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ظہر اور عصر میں قرآت کیا کرتے تھے؟ تو انہوں نے بتلایا کہ ہاں، ہم نے پوچھا کہ آپ لوگوں کو کس طرح معلوم ہوتا تھا؟ فرمایا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی داڑھی مبارک کے ہلنے سے۔

Narrated Abu Ma`mar: I asked Khabbab whether the Prophet used to recite the Qur'an in the Zuhr and the `Asr prayers. He replied in the affirmative. We said, How did you come to know that? He said, From the movement of his beard.
