صحیح بخاری

آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرماتے تھے کہ اللہ علم کو اس طرح نہیں اٹھا لے گا کہ اس کو بندوں سے چھین لے۔ بلکہ وہ ( پختہ کار ) علماء کو موت دے کر علم کو اٹھائے گا۔ حتیٰ کہ جب کوئی عالم باقی نہیں رہے گا تو لوگ جاہلوں کو سردار بنا لیں گے، ان سے سوالات کیے جائیں گے اور وہ بغیر علم کے جواب دیں گے۔ اس لیے خود بھی گمراہ ہوں گے اور لوگوں کو بھی گمراہ کریں گے۔ فربری نے کہا ہم سے عباس نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے قتیبہ نے، کہا ہم سے جریر نے، انہوں نے ہشام سے مانند اس حدیث کے۔

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, Allah does not take away the knowledge, by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people, but takes it away by the death of the religious learned men till when none of the (religious learned men) remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons who when consulted will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go astray and will lead the people astray.
