سنن ابن ماجہ

ایک شخص مسجد نبوی میں داخل ہوا، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس وقت مسجد کے ایک گوشے میں بیٹھے ہوئے تھے تو اس نے نماز پڑھی، پھر آپ کے پاس آ کر سلام کیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: «وعلیک السلام» ( اور تم پر بھی سلامتی ہو ) ۔

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: a man entered the masjid, and the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) was sitting in a corner of the mosque. He prayed, then he came and greeted him with Salam(peace), and he said: 'Wa 'alaikassalm.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: جبرائیل علیہ السلام تمہیں سلام کہتے ہیں ( یہ سن کر ) انہوں نے جواب میں کہا: «وعليه السلام ورحمة الله» ( اور ان پر بھی سلامتی اور اللہ کی رحمت ہو ) ۔

It was narrated from Abu Salamah that 'Aishah told him that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said to her: Jibrail send (greetings of) Salam to you. She said: Wa 'alahisalam wa rahmatullah (and upon him be peace and mercy of Allah).
