سنن ابن ماجہ

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: غیر کنواری ( شوہر دیدہ ) کے لیے تین دن، اور کنواری کے لیے سات دن ہیں، ( پھر باری تقسیم کر دیں ) ۱؎۔

It was narrated from Anas: that the Messenger of Allah said: “Three days for a previously-married woman and seven days for a virgin.”

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے جب ان سے شادی کی تو ان کے پاس تین دن رہے، اور فرمایا: تم میرے نزدیک کم تر نہیں ہو اگر تم چاہتی ہو میں سات روز تک تمہارے پاس رہ سکتا ہوں، اس صورت میں میں سب عورتوں کے پاس سات سات روز تک رہوں گا ۔

It was narrated from Al-Harith from his father that when when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) married Umm Salamah, he stayed with her for three days, then he said: “You are not insignificant in your husband's eyes. If you wish, I will stay with you for seven days, but then I will stay with my other wives for seven days too.”
