سنن ابن ماجہ

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا گیا: کون سے لوگ بہتر ہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میرے زمانہ والے، پھر جو لوگ ان سے نزدیک ہوں، پھر وہ جو ان سے نزدیک ہوں، پھر ایسے لوگ پیدا ہوں گے جن کی گواہی ان کی قسم سے اور قسم گواہی سے سبقت کر جائے گی ۱؎۔

Abdullah bin Mas'ud said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked, 'Which of the people are best?' He said: 'My generation, then those that follow them, then those that follow them. Then there will come people whose testimony precedes their oath and whose oath precedes their testimony.”

عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے مقام جابیہ میں خطبہ دیا، اس خطبہ میں انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمارے بیچ کھڑے ہوئے جیسے میں تمہارے بیچ کھڑا ہوں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میرے صحابہ کی شان کے سلسلے میں میرا خیال رکھو پھر ان لوگوں کی شان کے سلسلے میں جو ان کے بعد ہوں، پھر جو ان کے بعد ہوں، پھر جھوٹ عام ہو جائے گا یہاں تک کہ ایک شخص گواہی دے گا اور کوئی اس سے گواہی نہ چاہے گا، اور قسم کھائے گا اور کوئی اس سے قسم نہ چاہے گا ۱؎۔

It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said: 'Umar bin Khattab addressed us at Jabiyah and said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up among us as I stand among you, and said: 'Honor my Companions for my sake, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then lying will prevail until a man will give testimony without being asked to do so, and he will swear an oath without being asked to do so.' ”
