نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس میں چار چیزیں ہوں، وہ منافق ہے، یا ان چار میں سے کوئی ایک خصلت ( عادت ) ہو تو اس میں نفاق کی ایک خصلت ہے جب تک کہ وہ اسے چھوڑ نہ دے: جب بات کرے تو جھوٹ بولے، وعدہ کرے تو وعدہ خلافی کرے، عہد و پیمان کرے تو توڑ دے، اور جب جھگڑا کرے تو گالی گلوچ کرے“۔

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr that: The Prophet [SAW] said: There are four (traits), whoever has them is a hypocrite and whoever has one of them, then has one of the traits of hypocrisy, until he gives it up: When he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; when he makes a covenant, he betrays it; and when he argues, he resorts to foul language.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”نفاق کی تین علامتیں ( نشانیاں ) ہیں: جب بات کرے تو جھوٹ بولے، جب وعدہ کرے تو وعدہ خلافی کرے اور جب امین بنایا جائے تو خیانت کرے“۔

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that : The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: The signs of the hypocrite are three: When he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise he breaks it; and when he is entrusted with something, he betrays (that trust).

مجھ سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عہد کیا کہ ”مجھ سے محبت صرف مومن کرے گا، اور مجھ سے بغض و نفرت صرف منافق کرے گا“۔

It was narrated that 'Ali said: The Prophet [SAW] made a covenant with me that none would love me but a believer, and none would hate me but a hypocrite.

تین باتیں جس شخص میں ہوں، وہ منافق ہے: جب بات چیت کرے تو جھوٹ بولے، جب امین بنایا جائے تو خیانت کرے، جب وعدہ کرے تو وعدہ خلافی کرے، اور جس شخص میں ان میں سے کوئی ایک عادت ہو تو اس میں نفاق کی ایک عادت ہے یہاں تک کہ وہ اسے چھوڑ دے۔

It was narrated that Abu Wa'il said: Abdullah said: 'There are three (traits), whoever has them is a hypocrite: When he speaks, he lies; when he is entrusted with something, he betrays that trust; and when he makes a promise, he breaks it. Whoever has one of these (traits) then a trait of hypocrisy has not ceased in him, until he leaves it.' (Sahih Mawquf)
