سنن نسائ

ہم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ سولہ یا سترہ مہینہ بیت المقدس کی طرف رخ کر کے نماز پڑھی، یہ شک سفیان کی طرف سے ہے، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم قبلہ  ( خانہ کعبہ )  کی طرف پھیر دئیے گئے۔

It was narrated that Al-Bara' said: We prayed toward Bait Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem) with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for sixteen or seventeen months - Safwan was not sure - then it was changed to the Qiblah.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مدینہ آئے تو آپ نے سولہ مہینہ تک بیت المقدس کی طرف رخ کر کے نماز پڑھی، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کعبہ کی طرف پھیر دئیے گئے، تو ایک آدمی جو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نماز پڑھ چکا تھا، انصار کے کچھ لوگوں کے پاس سے گزرا تو اس نے کہا: میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کعبہ کی طرف پھیر دئیے گئے ہیں،  ( لوگوں نے یہ سنا )  تو وہ بھی قبلہ کی طرف پھر گئے ۱؎۔

It was narrated that Al-Bara bin 'Azib said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to Al-Madinah and prayed toward Bait Al-Maqdis for sixteen months, then he was commanded to face towards the Ka'bah. A man who had prayed with the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by some of the Ansar and said: 'I bear witness that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has been commanded to face towards the Ka'bah' so they turned to face the Ka'bah.
