Narrated Muadh ibn Jabal: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: The flourishing state of Jerusalem will be when Yathrib is in ruins, the ruined state of Yathrib will be when the great war comes, the outbreak of the great war will be at the conquest of Constantinople and the conquest of Constantinople when the Dajjal (Antichrist) comes forth. He (the Prophet) struck his thigh or his shoulder with his hand and said: This is as true as you are here or as you are sitting (meaning Muadh ibn Jabal).

معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: بیت المقدس کی آبادی مدینہ کی ویرانی ہو گی، مدینہ کی ویرانی لڑائیوں اور فتنوں کا ظہور ہو گا، فتنوں کا ظہور قسطنطنیہ کی فتح ہو گی، اور قسطنطنیہ کی فتح دجال کا ظہور ہو گا پھر آپ نے اپنا ہاتھ اس شخص یعنی معاذ بن جبل کی ران یا مونڈھے پر مارا جن سے آپ یہ بیان فرما رہے تھے، پھر فرمایا: یہ ایسے ہی یقینی ہے جیسے تمہارا یہاں ہونا یا بیٹھنا یقینی ہے
