سنن ابوداؤد

اللہ تعالیٰ ابتدائے اسلام میں ہجرت کرنے والی عورتوں پر رحم فرمائے جب اللہ تعالیٰ نے آیت کریمہ «وليضربن بخمرهن على جيوبهن» اور اپنے گریبانوں پر اپنی اوڑھنیاں ڈالے رہیں ( سورۃ النور: ۳۱ ) نازل فرمائی تو انہوں نے اپنے پردوں کو پھاڑ کر اپنی اوڑھنیاں اور دوپٹے بنا ڈالے۔ ابن صالح نے «أكنف» کے بجائے «أكثف» کہا ہے۔

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: May Allah have mercy on the early immigrant women. When the verse That they should draw their veils over their bosoms was revealed, they tore their thick outer garments and made veils from them.

میں نے اپنے ماموں کی کتاب میں «عقيل عن ابن شهاب» کے طریق سے اسی مفہوم کی روایت دیکھی ہے۔

Ibn al-Sarh said: I saw (this tradition) in the writing of my maternal uncle from Aqil, from Ibn Shihab through a different chain of narrators and to the same effect.
