سنن ابوداؤد

ہمیں نماز میں سورۃ فاتحہ اور جو سورۃ آسان ہو اسے پڑھنے کا حکم دیا گیا ہے۔

Amr bin Huraith said: As if I am hearing the voice of the prophet (may peace by upon him) who would recite at the morning prayer “Oh, but I call to witness the planets, the stars which rise and set” (surah 81: 15-16)

ہمیں نماز میں سورۃ فاتحہ اور جو سورۃ آسان ہو اسے پڑھنے کا حکم دیا گیا ہے۔

Abu Saeed said: we were commanded to recite Fatihat al-kitab and whatever was convenient (from the Quran during the prayer).

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے فرمایا: تم جاؤ اور مدینہ میں اعلان کر دو کہ نماز بغیر قرآن کے نہیں ہوتی، اگرچہ سورۃ فاتحہ اور اس کے ساتھ کچھ اور ہی ہو ۔

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: Go out and announce in Madina that prayer is not valid but the recitation of the Quran even though it might be fatihat al-kitab and something more.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھے حکم دیا کہ میں یہ اعلان کر دوں کہ سورۃ فاتحہ اور کوئی اور سورت پڑھے بغیر نماز نہیں۔

Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم commanded me to announce that prayer is not valid but with the recitation of Fatihat al-kitab and something more.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس نے نماز پڑھی اور اس میں سورۃ فاتحہ نہیں پڑھی تو وہ ناقص ہے، ناقص ہے، ناقص ہے، پوری نہیں ۔ راوی ابوسائب کہتے ہیں: اس پر میں نے کہا: ابوہریرہ! کبھی کبھی میں امام کے پیچھے ہوتا ہوں ( تو کیا کروں! ) تو انہوں نے میرا بازو دبایا اور کہا: اے فارسی! اسے اپنے جی میں پڑھ لیا کرو، کیونکہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے: اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے: میں نے نماز ۱؎ کو اپنے اور اپنے بندے کے درمیان نصف نصف تقسیم کر دی ہے، اس کا نصف میرے لیے ہے اور نصف میرے بندے کے لیے اور میرے بندے کے لیے وہ بھی ہے جو وہ مانگے ۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: پڑھو: بندہ «الحمد لله رب العالمين» کہتا ہے تو اللہ عزوجل کہتا ہے: میرے بندے نے میری تعریف کی، بندہ«الرحمن الرحيم» کہتا ہے تو اللہ عزوجل فرماتا ہے: میرے بندے نے میری توصیف کی، بندہ «مالك يوم الدين» کہتا ہے تو اللہ عزوجل فرماتا ہے: میرے بندے نے میری عظمت اور بزرگی بیان کی، بندہ «إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين» کہتا ہے تو اللہ فرماتا ہے: یہ میرے اور میرے بندے کے درمیان ہے اور میرے بندے کے لیے وہ ہے جو وہ مانگے، پھر بندہ «اهدنا الصراط المستقيم * صراط الذين أنعمت عليهم غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين» کہتا ہے تو اللہ فرماتا ہے: یہ سب میرے بندے کے لیے ہیں اور میرے بندے کے لیے وہ ہے جو وہ مانگے ۲؎ ۔

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: If anyone observes a prayer in which he does not recite Umm al-Quran, it is incomplete, it is incomplete, it is incomplete, and deficient. (The narrator said) I said: Abu Hurairah, sometime I pray behind the imam (then what should I do)? Pressing my hand he replied: O Persian, recite it inwardly, for I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying that Allah, Most High, has said: I have Me and the Half for my servant and My servant will receive what he asks. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Recite. When the servant says: “praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe, ” Allah, Most High says: “My servant has praised me. ” When the servant says: “ The Compassionate, the merciful, “Allah Most High says: “My servant has lauded me. ” When the servant says: “Owner of the Day of Judgment, ” Allah, Most High, says: “My servant has glorified Me” When the servant says: “ Thee do we worship and of thee we ask help. “ (Allah says) “This is between Me and My servant, and My servant will receive what he asks. ” When the servant says: “ Guide us to the Straight Path, the path of those whom thou hast favoured, not ( the path) of those who earn thine anger nor of those who go astray, ” (Allah says: ) “This is for My servant, and My servant will receive what he asks. ”

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس شخص کی نماز نہیں جس نے سورۃ فاتحہ اور کوئی اور سورت نہیں پڑھی ۱؎ ۔ سفیان کہتے ہیں: یہ اس شخص کے لیے ہے جو تنہا نماز پڑھے ۲؎۔

Ubadah bin al-Samit reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: the prayer is not valid I one does not recite fatihat al-kitab and something more, sufyan ( the narrator) said: This applies to a man who prays alone.

نماز فجر میں ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پیچھے تھے، آپ نے قرآت شروع کی تو وہ آپ پر دشوار ہو گئی، جب آپ فارغ ہوئے تو فرمایا: شاید تم لوگ اپنے امام کے پیچھے کچھ پڑھتے ہو؟ ، ہم نے کہا: ہاں، اللہ کے رسول! ہم جلدی جلدی پڑھ لیتے ہیں تو ۱؎ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: سورۃ فاتحہ کے علاوہ کچھ مت پڑھا کرو، کیونکہ جو اسے نہ پڑھے اس کی نماز نہیں ہوتی ۔

Narrated Ubadah ibn as-Samit: We were behind the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم at the dawn prayer, and he recited (the passage), but the recitation became difficult for him. Then when he finished, he said: Perhaps you recite behind your imam? We replied: Yes, it is so, Messenger of Allah. He said: Do not do so except when it is Fatihat al-Kitab, for he who does not recite it is not credited with having prayed.

عبادہ بن صامت رضی اللہ عنہ نے فجر میں تاخیر کی تو ابونعیم مؤذن نے تکبیر کہہ کر خود لوگوں کو نماز پڑھانی شروع کر دی، اتنے میں عبادہ آئے ان کے ساتھ میں بھی تھا، ہم لوگوں نے بھی ابونعیم کے پیچھے صف باندھ لی، ابونعیم بلند آواز سے قرآت کر رہے تھے، عبادہ سورۃ فاتحہ پڑھنے لگے، جب ابونعیم نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو میں نے عبادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا: میں نے آپ کو ( نماز میں ) سورۃ فاتحہ پڑھتے ہوئے سنا، حالانکہ ابونعیم بلند آواز سے قرآت کر رہے تھے، انہوں نے کہا: ہاں اس لیے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں ایک جہری نماز پڑھائی جس میں آپ زور سے قرآت کر رہے تھے، آپ کو قرآت میں التباس ہو گیا، جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو ہماری طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور پوچھا: جب میں بلند آواز سے قرآت کرتا ہوں تو کیا تم لوگ بھی قرآت کرتے ہو؟ ، تو ہم میں سے کچھ لوگوں نے کہا: ہاں، ہم ایسا کرتے ہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اب ایسا مت کرنا، جبھی میں کہتا تھا کہ کیا بات ہے کہ قرآن مجھ سے کوئی چھینے لیتا ہے تو جب میں بلند آواز سے قرآت کروں تو تم سوائے سورۃ فاتحہ کے قرآن میں سے کچھ نہ پڑھو ۔

Nafib. Mahmudb. Al-Rabi Al-Ansari said: “Ubadah bin al-Samit came to late to lead the morning prayer. Abu Nuaim, the Muadhdhin, pronounced the takbir and he led the people in prayer. Then Ubadah came and I was with him. We Joined the row behind Abu Nuaim, while Abu Nuaim was reciting the Quran loudly. Then Ubadah began to recite the Umm al-Quran (I. e Surah al Fatihah). When he finished, I said to Ubadah: I heard you reciting the Umm al-Quran while Abu Nuaim was reciting Quran loudly. He replied: yes> The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم led us in a certain prayer in which the Quran is recited loudly, but he became confused in the recitation. When he finished he turned his face to us and said: Do you recite when I recite the Quran loudly? Some of us said: we do so; this is why I said to myself: What is that which confused me (in the recitation of ) the Quran. Do not recite anything from the Quran when I recite it loudly except the Umm al-Quran.

مکحول مغرب، عشاء اور فجر میں ہر رکعت میں سورۃ فاتحہ آہستہ سے پڑھتے تھے، مکحول کا بیان ہے: جب امام جہری نماز میں سورۃ فاتحہ پڑھ کر سکتہ کرے، اس وقت آہستہ سے سورۃ فاتحہ پڑھ لیا کرو اور اگر سکتہ نہ کرے تو اس سے پہلے یا اس کے ساتھ یا اس کے بعد پڑھ لیا کرو، کسی حال میں بھی ترک نہ کرو۔

The above mentioned tradition has been transmitted through a different chain of narrators by Ubadah bin al-Samit like the version of al-Rabib Sulaiman. This version adds: Makhul used to recite Surah al Fatihah al-kitab quietly in the prayer in which the imam recites the Quran loudly when he observes the period of silence. If he does not observe the period of silence, recite it before him (i. e before his recitation), or along with him or after him; do not give it up in any case.
