سنن ابن ماجہ

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں تعریف کرنے والوں کے منہ میں مٹی ڈالنے کا حکم دیا ہے۔

It was narrated that Miqdad bin 'Amr said: The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) commanded us to throw dust in the faces of those who praise others.

میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: تم آپس میں ایک دوسرے کی منہ پر مدح و تعریف کرنے سے بچو، کیونکہ اس طرح تعریف کرنا گویا ذبح کرنا ہے ۱؎۔

It was narrated that Muawiyah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) say: 'Beware of praising one another, for it is slaughtering (one another).'

ایک شخص نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے ایک آدمی کی تعریف کی تو آپ نے فرمایا: افسوس! تم نے اپنے بھائی کی گردن کاٹ دی ، اس جملہ کو آپ نے کئی بار دہرایا، پھر فرمایا: تم میں سے اگر کوئی آدمی اپنے بھائی کی تعریف کرنا چاہے تو یہ کہے کہ میں ایسا سمجھتا ہوں، لیکن میں اللہ تعالیٰ کے اوپر کسی کو پاک نہیں کہہ سکتا ۱؎۔

It was narrated from Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Bakrah that his father said: A man praised another man in the presence of Messenger of Allah(ﷺ). The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: 'Woe to you,you have cut the neck of your companion,'several times. Then he said: 'If anyone of you praises his brother, let him say: I think he is lie this, but I do not sanctify anyone before Allah.
