سنن ابن ماجہ

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں سمجھتا ہوں کہ عرفہ ۱؎ کے دن روزہ رکھنے کا ثواب اللہ تعالیٰ یہ دے گا کہ اگلے پچھلے ایک سال کے گناہ بخش دے گا ۲؎۔

It was narrated from Abu Qatadah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah, I hope from Allah, expiates for the sins of the year before and the year after.”

میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا: جس نے عرفہ کے دن روزہ رکھا تو اس کے ایک سال کے اگلے اور ایک سال کے پچھلے گناہ بخش دئیے جائیں گے ۔

It was narrated that Qatadah bin Nu’man said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘Whoever fasts the Day of ‘Arafah, his sins of the previous and following year will be forgiven.’”

میں ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے ان کے گھر ملنے گیا تو ان سے عرفات میں عرفہ کے روزے کے سلسلے میں پوچھا؟ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مقام عرفات میں عرفہ کے دن روزہ رکھنے سے منع فرمایا ہے۔

It was narrated that ‘Ikrimah said: “I entered upon Abu Hurairah in his house and asked him about fasting the Day of ‘Arafah at ‘Arafat. Abu Hurairah said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade fasting the Day of ‘Arafah at ‘Arafat.’”
