سنن ابن ماجہ

میں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! ایک آدمی مجھ سے ایک چیز خریدنا چاہتا ہے، اور وہ میرے پاس نہیں ہے، کیا میں اس کو بیچ دوں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جو چیز تمہارے پاس نہیں ہے اس کو نہ بیچو ۔

It was narrated that Hakim bin Hizam said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, a man is asking me to sell him something that I do not possess; Shall I sell it to him?' He said: 'Do not sell what is not with you. '

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جو چیز تمہارے پاس نہ ہو اس کا بیچنا جائز نہیں، اور نہ اس چیز کا نفع جائز ہے جس کے تم ضامن نہیں ۱؎۔

It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, that his grandfather said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'It is not permissible to sell something that is not with you, nor to profit from what you do not possess. '

جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کو مکہ بھیجا، تو اس چیز کے نفع سے منع کیا جس کے وہ ضامن نہ ہوں۔

It was narrated from 'Ata that 'Attab bin Asid said that : when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent him to Makkah, he forbade him from profiting off of what he did not possess.
