And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] - lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware."
Aur jab aap kay rab ney aulad-e-aadam ki pusht say unn ki aulad ko nikala aur unn say unn hi kay mutalliq iqrar liya kay kiya mein tumhara rab nahi hun? Sab ney jawab diya kiyon nahi! Hum sab gawah bantay hain. Takay tum log qayamat kay roz yun na kaho kay hum to iss say mehaz bey khabar thay.
और जब आपके रब ने आदम की औलाद की पीठों से उनकी औलाद को निकाला और उनको गवाह ठहराया ख़ुद उनके ऊपर, क्या मैं तुम्हारा रब नहीं हूँ? उन्होंने कहाः हाँ क्यों नहीं! हम इक़रार करते हैं, यह इसलिए हुआ कि कहीं तुम क़यामत के दिन कहने लगो कि हमको तो इसकी ख़बर न थी।
Or [lest] you say, "It was only that our fathers associated [others in worship] with Allah before, and we were but descendants after them. Then would You destroy us for what the falsifiers have done?"
Ya yun kaho kay pehlay pehlay shirk to humaray baron ney kiya aur hum unn kay baad unn ki nasal mein huye so kiya inn ghalat raah walon kay fail per tu hum ko halakat mein daal dey ga?
या कहो कि हमारे बाप-दादा ने पहले से शिर्क किया था और हम उनके बाद उनकी नस्ल में हुए, तो क्या तू हमको हलाक करेगा उस काम पर जो ग़लत-कार लोगों ने किया।
And thus do We [explain in] detail the verses, and perhaps they will return.
Hum issi tarah aayaat ko saaf saaf biyan kertay hain aur takay woh baaz ajayen.
और इस तरह हम अपनी निशानियाँ खोलकर बयान करते हैं ताकि वे लौट जाएं।
