الفاظ ( اِمَامًا )

جب ابراہیم ( علیہ السلام ) کو ان کے رب نے کئی کئی باتوں سے آزمایا اور انہوں نے سب کو پورا کر دیا تو اللہ نے فرمایا کہ میں تمہیں لوگوں کا امام بنا دوں گا عرض کرنے لگے میری اولاد کو فرمایا میرا وعدہ ظالموں سے نہیں ۔

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them. [ Allah ] said, "Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [ Allah ] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers."

کیا وہ شخص جو اپنے رب کے پاس کی دلیل پر ہو اور اس کے ساتھ اللہ کی طرف کا گواہ ہو اور اس سے پہلے موسیٰ کی کتاب ( گواہ ہو ) جو پیشوا و رحمت ہے ( اوروں کے برابر ہو سکتا ہے؟ ) یہی لوگ ہیں جو اس پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں اور تمام فرقوں میں سے جو بھی اس کا منکر ہو اس کے آخری وعدے کی جگہ جہنم ہے پس تو اس میں کسی قسم کے شبہ میں نہ رہ یقیناً یہ تیرے رب کی جانب سے سراسر برحق ہے ، لیکن اکثر لوگ ایمان لانے والے نہیں ہوتے ۔

So is one who [stands] upon a clear evidence from his Lord [like the aforementioned]? And a witness from Him follows it, and before it was the Scripture of Moses to lead and as mercy. Those [believers in the former revelations] believe in the Qur'an. But whoever disbelieves in it from the [various] factions - the Fire is his promised destination. So be not in doubt about it. Indeed, it is the truth from your Lord, but most of the people do not believe.

اور یہ دعا کرتے ہیں کہ اے ہمارے پروردگار! تو ہمیں ہماری بیویوں اور اولاد سے آنکھوں کی ٹھنڈک عطا فرما اور ہمیں پرہیزگاروں کا پیشوا بنا ۔

And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous."

اور اس سے پہلے موسیٰ کی کتاب پیشوا اور رحمت تھی اور یہ کتاب ہے تصدیق کرنے والی عربی زبان میں تاکہ ظالموں کو ڈرائے اور نیک کاروں کو بشارت ہو ۔

And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as a mercy. And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue to warn those who have wronged and as good tidings to the doers of good.
