[Remember, O believers], when Allah promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours - and you wished that the unarmed one would be yours. But Allah intended to establish the truth by His words and to eliminate the disbelievers
Aur tum log uss waqt ko yaad kero! Jab kay Allah tum say unn do jamaton mein say aik ka wada kerta tha kay woh tumharay haath aajaye gi aur tum iss tamanna mein thay kay ghair musallah jamat tumharay haath aajaye aur Allah Taalaa ko yeh manzoor tha kay apney ehkaam say haq ka haq hona sabit kerdey aur inn kafiron ki jarr kaat dey.
और जब अल्लाह तुम से वादा कर रहा था कि दो जमातों में से एक तुमको मिल जाएगी और तुम चाहते थे कि जिसमें काँटा ना लगे वह तुमको मिले, और अल्लाह चाहता था कि वह हक़ का हक़ होना साबित कर दे अपने कलिमात से और मुनकिरों की जड़ काट दे।
Say, "Do you await for us except one of the two best things while we await for you that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands? So wait; indeed we, along with you, are waiting."
Keh dijiye kay tum humaray baray mein jiss cheez ka intizar ker rahey ho woh do bhalaeeyon mein say aik hai aur hum tumharay haq mein iss ka intizar kertay hain kay ya to Allah Taalaa apney pass say koi saza tumhen dey ya humaray hathon say pus aik taraf tum muntazir raho doosri janib tumharay sath hum bhi muntazir hain.
कह दें कि तुम हमारे लिए सिर्फ़ दो भालाईयों में से एक भलाई के मुंतज़िर हो, मगर हम तुम्हारे हक़ में इसके मुंतज़िर हैं कि अल्लाह तुम पर अज़ाब भेजे अपनी तरफ़ से या हमारे हाथों से, बस अब इंतिज़ार करो हम भी तुम्हारे साथ मुंतज़िर हैं।
He said, "Indeed, I wish to wed you one of these, my two daughters, on [the condition] that you serve me for eight years; but if you complete ten, it will be [as a favor] from you. And I do not wish to put you in difficulty. You will find me, if Allah wills, from among the righteous."
Uss buzrug ney kaha mein apni inn dono larkiyon mein say aik ko aap kay nikkah mein dena chahata hun iss ( mehar per ) kay aap aath saal tak mera kaam kaaj keren. Haan agar aap dus saal pooray keren to yeh aap ki taraf say bator ehsan kay hai mein yeh hergiz nahi chahata kay aap ko kissi mushaqqat mein dalon Allah ko manzoor hai to aagay chal ker aap mujhay bhala aadmi payen gay.
उस ने कहा, "मैं चाहता हूँ कि अपनी इन दोनों बेटियों में से एक का विवाह तुम्हारे साथ इस शर्त पर कर दूँ कि तुम आठ वर्ष तक मेरे यहाँ नौकरी करो। और यदि तुम दस वर्ष पूरे कर दो, तो यह तुम्हारी ओर से होगा। मैं तुम्हें कठिनाई में डालना नहीं चाहता। यदि अल्लाह ने चाहा तो तुम मुझे नेक पाओगे।"
And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths that if a warner came to them, they would be more guided than [any] one of the [previous] nations. But when a warner came to them, it did not increase them except in aversion.
Aur inn kufaar ney bari zor daar qasam khaee thi kay inn kay pass agar koi daraney wala aaye to woh her aik ummat say ziyada hidayat qabool kerney walay hon. Phir jab inn kay pass aik payghumbar aa phonchay to bus inn ki nafrat hi mein izafa hua.
उन्होंने अल्लाह की कड़ी-कड़ी क़समें खाई थी कि यदि उन के पास कोई सचेतकर्ता आए तो वे समुदायों में से प्रत्येक से बढ़कर सीधे मार्ग पर होंगे। किन्तु जब उन के पास एक सचेतकर्ता आ गया तो इस चीज़ ने धरती में उन के घमंड और बुरी चालों के कारण उन की नफ़रत ही में अभिवृद्धि की,
