Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah , the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.
Sari achaee mashriq-o-maghrib ki taraf mun kerney mein hi nahi bulkay acha woh shaks hai jo Allah Taalaa per qayamat kay din per aur farishton per kitab ullah per aur nabiyon per eman rakhney wala ho jo maal say mohabbat kerney kay bawajood qarabat daron yateemon miskeenon musafiron aur sawal kerney walon ko dey ghulamon ko aazad keray namaz ki pabandi aur zakat ki adaeegi keray jab wada keray tab ussay poora keray tangdast dukh dard aur laraee kay waqt sabar keray yehi sachay log hain aur yehi perhezgar hain.
नेकी यह नहीं कि तुम अपने चेहरे पूरब और पश्चिम की तरफ़ कर लो; बल्कि नेकी यह है कि आदमी ईमान लाए अल्लाह पर और आख़िरत के दिन पर और फ़रिश्तों पर और किताब पर और पैग़म्बरों पर, और माल दे अल्लाह की मुहब्बत में रिश्तेदारों को, और मोहताजों को और मुसाफ़िरों को, और मांगने वालों को और ग़ुलामों को छुड़ाने में, और नमाज़ क़ायम करे और ज़कात अदा करे, और जब अहद कर लें तो उसको पूरा करें, और सब्र करने वाले सख़्ती और तकलीफ़ में और लड़ाई के वक़्त, यही लोग हैं जो सच्चे निकले, और यही हैं डर रखने वाले।
And when [other] relatives and orphans and the needy are present at the [time of] division, then provide for them [something] out of the estate and speak to them words of appropriate kindness.
Aur jab taqseem kay waqt qarabat daar aur yateem aur miskeen aajayen to tum uss mein say thor boht enhen bhi dey do aur inn sa narmi say bolo.
और अगर (मीरास की) तक़सीम के वक़्त रिश्तेदार और यतीम और मुहताज मौजूद हों तो उसमें से उनको भी कुछ दे दो और उनसे हमदर्दी की बात कहो।
And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,
Aur Allah Taalaa ki mohabat mein khana khilatay hein miskeen yateem aur qediyon ko
और वे मुहताज, अनाथ और क़ैदी को खाना उस की चाहत रखते हुए खिलाते हैं,
And know that anything you obtain of war booty - then indeed, for Allah is one fifth of it and for the Messenger and for [his] near relatives and the orphans, the needy, and the [stranded] traveler, if you have believed in Allah and in that which We sent down to Our Servant on the day of criterion - the day when the two armies met. And Allah , over all things, is competent.
Jaan lo kay tum jiss qisam ki aur jo kuch ghanimat hasil kero uss mein say panchwa hissa Allah ka hai aur rasool ka aur qarabat daron ka aur yateemon ka aur miskeenon ka aur musafiron ka agar tum Allah per eman laye ho aur uss cheez per jo hum ney apney banday per uss din utara hai jo din haq-o-baatil ki judaee ka tha jiss din do fojen bhirr gaee thin. Allah her cheez per qadir hai.
और जान लो कि जो कुछ माले-ग़नीमत तुम्हें हासिल हो उसका पाँचवा हिस्सा अल्लाह और रसूल के लिए और रिश्तेदारों और यतीमों और मिस्कीनों और मुसाफ़िरों के लिए है अगर तुम ईमान रखते हो अल्लाह पर और उस चीज़ पर जो हमने अपने बंदे (मुहम्मद) पर उतारी फ़ैसले के दिन जिस दिन कि दोनों जमातों में मुडभेड़ हुई, और अल्लाह हर चीज़ पर क़ादिर है।
