Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture, who believe in superstition and false objects of worship and say about the disbelievers, "These are better guided than the believers as to the way"?
Kiya aap ney unhen nahi dekha jinhen kitab ka kuch hissa mila hai? Jo butt ka aur baatil mabood ka aetiqaad rakhtay hain aur kafiron kay haq mein kehtay hain kay yeh log eman walon say ziyada raah-e-raast per hain.
क्या आपने उन लोगों को नहीं देखा जिन्हें किताब (यानी तौरात के इल्म) का एक हिस्सा दिया गया था कि वे (किस तरह) बुतों और शैतान की तस्दीक़ कर रहे हैं और काफ़िरों के बारे में कहते हैं कि ईमान वालों के मुक़ाबले ये ज़्यादा रास्ते पर हैं।
Say, "Each works according to his manner, but your Lord is most knowing of who is best guided in way."
Keh dijiye! Kay her shaks apney tareeqay per aamil hai jo poori hidayat kay raastay per hain unhen tumhara rab hi bakhoobi jannay wala hai.
कह दो, "हर एक अपने ढब पर काम कर रहा है, तो अब तुम्हारा रब ही भली-भाँति जानता है कि कौन अधिक सीधे मार्ग पर है।"
Say, "Then bring a scripture from Allah which is more guiding than either of them that I may follow it, if you should be truthful."
Kehdey agar sachay hoto tum bhi Allah kay pass say aisi kitab ley aao jo inn dono say ziyada hidayat wali ho mein ussi ki pairwee keroon ga.
कहो, "अच्छा तो लाओ अल्लाह के यहाँ से कोई ऐसी किताब, जो इन दोनों से बढ़कर मार्गदर्शन करने वाली हो कि मैं उस का अनुसरण करूँ, यदि तुम सच्चे हो?"
And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths that if a warner came to them, they would be more guided than [any] one of the [previous] nations. But when a warner came to them, it did not increase them except in aversion.
Aur inn kufaar ney bari zor daar qasam khaee thi kay inn kay pass agar koi daraney wala aaye to woh her aik ummat say ziyada hidayat qabool kerney walay hon. Phir jab inn kay pass aik payghumbar aa phonchay to bus inn ki nafrat hi mein izafa hua.
उन्होंने अल्लाह की कड़ी-कड़ी क़समें खाई थी कि यदि उन के पास कोई सचेतकर्ता आए तो वे समुदायों में से प्रत्येक से बढ़कर सीधे मार्ग पर होंगे। किन्तु जब उन के पास एक सचेतकर्ता आ गया तो इस चीज़ ने धरती में उन के घमंड और बुरी चालों के कारण उन की नफ़रत ही में अभिवृद्धि की,
