Have you not considered the one who argued with Abraham about his Lord [merely] because Allah had given him kingship? When Abraham said, "My Lord is the one who gives life and causes death," he said, "I give life and cause death." Abraham said, "Indeed, Allah brings up the sun from the east, so bring it up from the west." So the disbeliever was overwhelmed [by astonishment], and Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
Kiya tu ney ussay nahi dekha jo saltanat paa ker ibrahim ( alh-e-salam ) say uss kay rab kay baray mein jhagar raha tha jab ibrahim ( alh-e-salam ) ney kaha mera rab to woh hai jo jilata aur maarta hai woh kehney laga mein bhi jilata aur maarta hun ibrahim ( alh-e-salam ) ney kaha Allah Taalaa sooraj ko mashriq ki taraf say ley aata hai tu issay maghrib ki janib say ley aa. Abb to woh kafir bhoncka reh gaya aur Allah Taalaa zalimon ko hidayat nahi deta.
क्या तुमने उसको नहीं देखा जिसने इब्राहीम (अलै॰) से बहस की उनके रब के बारे में इस वजह से कि अल्लाह ने उनको सल्तनत दी थी, जब इब्राहीम (अलै॰) ने कहा कि मेरा रब वह है जो ज़िंदा करता है और मारता है, उसने कहा कि मैं भी जिंदा करता हूँ, और मारता हूँ, इब्राहीम (अलै॰) ने कहाः अल्लाह सूरज को मशरिक़ से निकालता है, तू उसको मग़रिब से निकाल दे, तब वह मुनकिर लाजवाब हो गया, और अल्लाह ज़ालिम लोगों को राह नहीं दिखाता।
Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.
Kiya aap ney nahi dekha kay aap kay rab ney saye ko kiss tarah phela diya hai? Agar chahata to issay thehra hua hi ker deta. Phir hum ney aftab ko issi per daleel banaya.
क्या तुम ने अपने रब को नहीं देखा कि कैसे फैलाई छाया? यदि चाहता तो उसे स्थिर रखता। फिर हम ने सूर्य को उस का पता देने वाला बनाया,
And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
Aur sooraj kay liye jo muqarrara raah hai woh ussi per chalta hai yeh hai muqarrar kerdah ghalib ba-ilm Allah Taalaa ka.
और सूर्य अपने नियत ठिकाने के लिए चला जा रहा है। यह बाँधा हुआ हिसाब है प्रभुत्वशाली, ज्ञानवान का
The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation,
Aftab aur mahtab ( muqarra ) hisab hain.
सूर्य और चन्द्रमा एक हिसाब के पाबन्द हैं;
And when he saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my lord; this is greater." But when it set, he said, "O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with Allah .
Phir jab aftab ko dekha chamakta hua to farmaya kay yeh mera rab hai yeh to sab say bara hai phir jab woh bhi ghuroob hogaya to aap ney farmaya be-shak mein tumharay shirk say bey zaar hun.
फिर जब सूरज को चमकते हुए देखा तो कहा कि यह मेरा रब है यह सबसे बड़ा है, फिर जब वह भी डूब गया तो उन्होंने कहा कि ऐ मेरी क़ौम! मैं उस शिर्क से दूर हूँ जो तुम करते हो।
And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp?
Aur in mien chand ko khob jagmata banaya hai aur sooraj ko roshan chiragh banaya hay
"और उन में चन्द्रमा को प्रकाश और सूर्य का प्रदीप बनाया?
And the sun and the moon are joined,
Aur soraj aur chand jama kerdiye jaeingay
और सूर्य और चन्द्रमा इकट्ठे कर दिए जाएँगे,
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness]
Jab sooraj lappet liya jaey ga
जब सूर्य लपेट दिया जाएगा,
By the sun and its brightness
Qasam hai sooraj ki aur uski dhoop ki
साक्षी है सूर्य और उस की प्रभा,
