And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon.
Aur boht bastiyon ko hum ney tabah ker diya aur unn per humara azab raat kay waqt phonchaya aisi halat mein kay woh dophare kay waqt aaram mein thay.
और कितनी ही बस्तियाँ हैं जिनको हमने हलाक कर दिया, उन पर हमारा अज़ाब रात को आ पहुँचा या दोपहर को जबकि वे आराम कर रहे थे।
And how many have We destroyed from the generations after Noah. And sufficient is your Lord, concerning the sins of His servants, as Acquainted and Seeing.
Hum ney nooh kay baad bhi boht si qomen halak kin aur tera rab apney bandon kay gunahon say kafi khabardaar aur khoob dekhney wala hai.
और नूह (अलै॰) के बाद हमने कितनी ही क़ौमें हलाक कर दीं, और आपका रब काफ़ी है अपने बंदों के गुनाहों को जानने के लिए (और) उनको देखने के लिए।
And how many a generation have We destroyed before them who were better in possessions and [outward] appearance?
Hum to inn say pehlay boht si jamaton ko ghaarat ker chukay hain jo saaz-o-saman aur naam-o-numood mein inn say barh charh ker thin.
हालाँकि उन से पहले हम कितनी ही नसलों को विनष्ट कर चुके हैं जो सामग्री और बाह्य भव्यता में इन से कहीं अच्छी थीं!
And how many have We destroyed before them of generations? Do you perceive of them anyone or hear from them a sound?
Hum ney inn say pehlay boht si jamaten tabah ker di hain kiya inn mein say aik bhi aahat tu pata hai ya unn ki awaz ki bhanak bhi teray kaan mein parti hai?
उन से पहले कितनी ही नसलों को हम विनष्ट कर चुके हैं। क्या उन में किसी की आहट तुम पाते हो या उन की कोई भनक सुनते हो?
And how many a city which was unjust have We shattered and produced after it another people.
Aure boht si bastiyan hum ney tabah ker din jo zalim thin aur unn kay baad hum ney doosri qom ko peda ker diya.
कितनी ही बस्तियों को, जो ज़ालिम थीं, हम ने तोड़कर रख दिया और उन के बाद हम ने दूसरे लोगों को उठाया
And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors.
Aur hum ney boht si woh bastiyan tabah kerdin jo apnay aish-o-ishrat mein itraney lagi thin yeh hain unn ki rehaeesh ki jaghen jo unn kay baad boht kum hi abad ki gaeen aur hum hi hain aakhir sab kuch kay waris.
हम ने कितनी ही बस्तियों को विनष्ट कर डाला, जिन्होंने अपनी गुज़र-बसर के संसाधन पर इतराते हुए अकृतज्ञता दिखाई। तो वे हैं उन के घर, जो उन के बाद आबाद थोड़े ही हुए। अन्ततः हम ही वारिस हुए
And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples,
Aur hum ney aglay logon mein bhi kitney hi nabi bhejay.
हम ने पहले के लोगों में कितने ही रसूल भेजे
And how many a generation before them did We destroy who were greater than them in [striking] power and had explored throughout the lands. Is there any place of escape?
Aur inn say pehlay bhi hum boht si ummaton ko halak ker chukay hain jo inn say taqat mein bohat ziyadah thi woh shehron mein dhondtay hi reh gaye, kay koi bhagney ka thikana hai?
उन से पहले हम कितनी ही नस्लों को विनष्ट कर चुके हैं। वे लोग शक्ति में उन से कहीं बढ़-चढ़कर थे। (पनाह की तलाश में) उन्होंने नगरों को छान मारा, कोई है भागने को ठिकाना?
And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allah has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves.
Aur boht say farishtay aasmanon mein hain jinki sifarish kuch bhi nafa nahi dey sakti magar yeh aur baat hai kay Allah taalaa apni khushi aur apni chahat say jioss kay liye chahye ijazat dey dey.
आकाशों में कितने ही फ़रिश्ते हैं, उन की सिफ़ारिश कुछ काम नहीं आएगी; यदि काम आ सकती है तो इस के पश्चात ही कि अल्लाह अनुमति दे, जिसे चाहे और पसन्द करे।
