Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning
Be-shak hum ney unhen issi tarah aazmaliya jiss tarah hum ney baagh walon ko aazmaya tha job unho ney qasman khayen kay subha hotay hi iss baagh kay phal utar lengay.
हम ने उन्हें परीक्षा में डाला है जैसे बाग़ वालों को परीक्षा में डाला था, जबकि उन्होंने क़सम खाई कि वे प्रातःकाल अवश्य उस (बाग़) के फल तोड़ लेंगे
Without making exception.
Aur inshaAllah na kaha.
और वे इसमें छूट की कोई गुंजाइश नहीं रख रहे थे
So there came upon the garden an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep.
Pus iss per teray rab ki janib say aik bala chaaron taraf ghoom gaee aur yeh so hi rahey thay.
अभी वे सो ही रहे थे कि तुम्हारे रब की ओर से गर्दिश का एक झोंका आया
And it became as though reaped.
Pus who baagh aisa hogaya jesay kati hui kheti.
और वह ऐसा हो गया जैसे कटी हुई फ़सल
And they called one another at morning,
Abb subha hotay hi unho ney aik doosray ko aawazen dea.
फिर प्रातःकाल होते ही उन्होंने एक-दूसरे को आवाज़ दी
[Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit."
Kay agar tumhen phal utarnay hain to apni kheti per saweray hi saweray chal paro.
कि "यदि तुम्हें फल तोड़ना है तो अपनी खेती पर सवेरे ही पहुँचो।"
So they set out, while lowering their voices,
phir yeh sab chupkay chupkay yeh baten kertay huye chalay.
अतएव वे चुपके-चुपके बातें करते हुए चल पड़े
[Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person."
Kay aaj kay din koi miskeen tumharay pass na aanay paye.
कि आज वहाँ कोई मुहताज तुम्हारे पास न पहुँचने पाए
And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able.
Aur lapkay huye subha subha gaye ( Samajh rahey thay ) kay hum qaaboo paagaye.
और वे आज तेज़ी के साथ चले मानो (मुहताजों को) रोक देने की उन्हें सामर्थ्य प्राप्त है
But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost;
job unho ney boogh dekha to kehnay logay yaqeenan hum raasta photo gaee.
किन्तु जब उन्होंने उसको देखा, कहने लगे, "निश्चय ही हम भटक गए हैं।
Rather, we have been deprived."
Nahi nahi bulkay humari qismat phoot gaee
नहीं, बल्कि हम वंचित होकर रह गए।"
The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [ Allah ]?' "
Inn sab main jo behtar tha uss nay kaha kay mein tumsay na kehta tha kay tum Allah ki pakeezgi q iyon nahi biyan kertay?
उन में जो सबसे अच्छा था कहने लगा, "क्या मैंने तुम से कहा नहीं था? तुम तसबीह क्यों नहीं करते?"
They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers."
To sab kehnay lagay humara rab pak hai be-shak hum hi zaalim thay.
वे पुकार उठे, "महान और उच्च है हमारा रब! निश्चय ही हम ज़ालिम थे।"
Then they approached one another, blaming each other.
Phir who aik doosray ki taraf rukh kerkay aapas mein malamat kernay lagay.
फिर वे परस्पर एक-दूसरे की ओर रुख़ करके लगे एक-दूसरे को मलामत करने।
They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.
kehnay lagay haaye afsos! Yaqeenan hum sirkash thay.
उन्होंने कहा, "अफ़सोस हम पर! निश्चय ही हम सरकश थे।
Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."
Kiya ajab hai kay humara rab humen iss say behtar badla dey dey hum to abb apnay rab say hi aarzoo rakhtay hain.
"आशा है कि हमारा रब बदले में हमें इस से अच्छा प्रदान करे। हम अपने रब की ओर उन्मुख हैं।"
