Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them which We had established upon the earth as We have not established you? And We sent [rain from] the sky upon them in showers and made rivers flow beneath them; then We destroyed them for their sins and brought forth after them a generation of others.
Kiya enhon ney dekha nahi kay hum inn say pehlay kitni jamaton ko halak ker chukay hain jin ko hum ney duniya mein aisi qooat di thi kay tum ko woh qooat nahi di aur hum ney unn per khoob barishen barsaeen aur hum ney unn kay neechay say nehren jari kin. Phir hum ney unn ko unn kay gunahon kay sabab halak ker daala aur unn kay baad doosri jamaton ko peda ker diya.
क्या उन्होंने नहीं देखा कि हमने उनसे पहले कितनी क़ौमों को हलाक कर दिया, उनको हमने ज़मीन में उतनी ताक़त दी थी जितनी तुमको नहीं दी और हमने उन पर आसमान से ख़ूब बारिश बरसाई, और हमने नहरें जारी कीं जो उनके नीचे बहती थीं फिर हमने उनको उनके गुनाहों की वजह से हलाक कर डाला और उनके बाद हमने दूसरी क़ौमों को उठाया।
And We had already destroyed generations before you when they wronged, and their messengers had come to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe. Thus do We recompense the criminal people
Aur hum ney tum say pehlay boht say girohon ko halak ker diya jabkay unhon ney zulm kiya halankay unn kay pass unn kay payghumber bhi dalaeel ley ker aaye aur woh aisay kab thay kay eman ley aatay? Hum mujrim logon ko aisi hi saza diya kertay hain.
और हमने तुमसे पहले क़ौमों को हलाक किया जबकि उन्होंने ज़ुल्म किया, और उनके पैग़म्बर उनके पास खुली दलीलों के साथ आए और वे ईमान लाने वाले न बने, हम ऐसा ही बदला देते हैं मुजरिम लोगों को।
And We did not destroy any city but that for it was a known decree.
Kissi basti ko hum ney halak nahi kiya magar yeh kay uss kay liye muqarrar navishta tha.
और हमने इससे पहले जिस बस्ती को भी हलाक किया है उसका एक मुक़र्रर वक़्त लिखा हुआ था।
And how many have We destroyed from the generations after Noah. And sufficient is your Lord, concerning the sins of His servants, as Acquainted and Seeing.
Hum ney nooh kay baad bhi boht si qomen halak kin aur tera rab apney bandon kay gunahon say kafi khabardaar aur khoob dekhney wala hai.
और नूह (अलै॰) के बाद हमने कितनी ही क़ौमें हलाक कर दीं, और आपका रब काफ़ी है अपने बंदों के गुनाहों को जानने के लिए (और) उनको देखने के लिए।
And how many a generation have We destroyed before them who were better in possessions and [outward] appearance?
Hum to inn say pehlay boht si jamaton ko ghaarat ker chukay hain jo saaz-o-saman aur naam-o-numood mein inn say barh charh ker thin.
हालाँकि उन से पहले हम कितनी ही नसलों को विनष्ट कर चुके हैं जो सामग्री और बाह्य भव्यता में इन से कहीं अच्छी थीं!
And how many have We destroyed before them of generations? Do you perceive of them anyone or hear from them a sound?
Hum ney inn say pehlay boht si jamaten tabah ker di hain kiya inn mein say aik bhi aahat tu pata hai ya unn ki awaz ki bhanak bhi teray kaan mein parti hai?
उन से पहले कितनी ही नसलों को हम विनष्ट कर चुके हैं। क्या उन में किसी की आहट तुम पाते हो या उन की कोई भनक सुनते हो?
Then, has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them as they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs for those of intelligence.
Kiya inn ki rehbari iss baat ney bhi nahi ki kay hum ney inn say pehlay boht si bastiyan halak ker di hain jin kay rehney sehney ki jaga yeh chal phir rahey hain. Yaqeenan iss mein aqal mandon kay liye boht si nishaniyan hain.
फिर क्या उन को इससे भी मार्ग न मिला कि हम उन से पहले कितनी ही नस्लों को विनष्ट कर चुके हैं, जिनकी बस्तियों में वे चलते-फिरते हैं? निस्संदेह बुद्धिमानों के लिए इसमें बहुत-सी निशानियाँ हैं
And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners
Hum ney kissi basti ko halak nahi kiya hai magar issi haal mein kay uss kay liye daraney walay thay.
हम ने किसी बस्ती को भी इस के बिना विनष्ट नहीं किया कि उस के लिए सचेत करने वाले याददिहानी के लिए मौजूद रहे हैं।
And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded.
Aur unn aglay zamaney walon ko halak kerney kay baad hum ney musa ( alh-e-salam ) ko aisi kitab inayat farmaee jo logon kay liye daleel aur hidayat-o-rehmat ho ker aaee thi takay woh naseehat hasil ker len.
और अगली नस्लों को विनष्ट कर देने के पश्चात हम ने मूसा को किताब प्रदान की, लोगों के लिए अन्तर्दृष्टियों की सामग्री, मार्गदर्शन और दयालुता बनाकर, ताकि वे ध्यान दें
And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors.
Aur hum ney boht si woh bastiyan tabah kerdin jo apnay aish-o-ishrat mein itraney lagi thin yeh hain unn ki rehaeesh ki jaghen jo unn kay baad boht kum hi abad ki gaeen aur hum hi hain aakhir sab kuch kay waris.
हम ने कितनी ही बस्तियों को विनष्ट कर डाला, जिन्होंने अपनी गुज़र-बसर के संसाधन पर इतराते हुए अकृतज्ञता दिखाई। तो वे हैं उन के घर, जो उन के बाद आबाद थोड़े ही हुए। अन्ततः हम ही वारिस हुए
Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, [as] they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs; then do they not hear?
Kiya iss baat ney bhi enhen hidayat nahi di kay hum ney inn say pehlay boht si ummaton ko halak ker diya jin kay makano mein yeh chal phir rahey hain. Iss mein to ( bari ) bari nishaniyan hain. Kiya phir bhi yeh nahi sunntay?
क्या उन के लिए यह चीज़ भी मार्गदर्शक सिद्ध नहीं हुई कि उन से पहले कितनी ही नस्लों को हम विनष्ट कर चुके हैं, जिन के रहने-बसने की जगहों में वे चलते-फिरते हैं? निस्संदेह इसमें बहुत-सी निशानियाँ हैं। फिर क्या वे सुनते नहीं?
Have they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them - that they to them will not return?
Kiya unhon ney nahi dekha kay inn kay pehlay boht si qomon ko hum ney gharat ker diya kay woh unn ki taraf lot ker nahi aayen gay.
क्या उन्होंने नहीं देखा कि उन से पहले कितनी ही नस्लों को हम ने विनष्ट किया कि वे उन की ओर पलटकर नहीं आएँगे?
How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape.
Hum ney iss say pehlay bhi boht si ummaton ko tabah ker dala unhon ney her chand cheek pukaar ki lekin woh waqt chutkaray ka na tha.
उन से पहले हम ने कितनी ही पीढ़ियों को विनष्ट किया, तो वे लगे पुकारने। किन्तु वह समय हटने-बचने का न था
And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief].
Aur yaqeenan hum ney tumahray aas pass ki bastiyan tabah ker den aur tarah tarah ki hum ney apni nishaniyan biyan ker den takay woh rujoo ker len.
हम तुम्हारे आस-पास की बस्तियों को विनष्ट कर चुके हैं, हालाँकि हम ने तरह-तरह से आयते पेश की थीं, ताकि वे रुजू करें
And how many a generation before them did We destroy who were greater than them in [striking] power and had explored throughout the lands. Is there any place of escape?
Aur inn say pehlay bhi hum boht si ummaton ko halak ker chukay hain jo inn say taqat mein bohat ziyadah thi woh shehron mein dhondtay hi reh gaye, kay koi bhagney ka thikana hai?
उन से पहले हम कितनी ही नस्लों को विनष्ट कर चुके हैं। वे लोग शक्ति में उन से कहीं बढ़-चढ़कर थे। (पनाह की तलाश में) उन्होंने नगरों को छान मारा, कोई है भागने को ठिकाना?
