When they entered upon David and he was alarmed by them? They said, "Fear not. [We are] two adversaries, one of whom has wronged the other, so judge between us with truth and do not exceed [it] and guide us to the sound path.
Jab yeh ( hazrat ) dawood ( alh-e-salam ) kay pass phonchay pus yeh unn say darr gaye unhon ney kaha khof na kijiyey! Hum do fareeq muqadma hain hum mein say aik ney ziyadti ki hai pus humaray darmiyan haq kay sath faisla ker dijiyey aur na-insafi na kijiyey aur humen seedhi raah bata dijiyey.
जब वे दाऊद के पास पहुँचे तो वह उन से सहम गया। वे बोले, "डरिए नहीं, हम दो विवादी हैं। हम में से एक ने दूसरे पर ज़्यादती की है; तो आप हमारे बीच ठीक-ठीक फ़ैसला कर दीजिए। और बात को दूर न डालिए और हमें ठीक मार्ग बता दीजिए
Indeed this, my brother, has ninety-nine ewes, and I have one ewe; so he said, 'Entrust her to me,' and he overpowered me in speech."
( suniyey ) yeh mera bhai hai iss kay pass ninnanway dunbiyan hain aur meray pass aik hi dunbi hai lekin yeh mujh say keh raha hai kay apni yeh aik bhi mujh hi ko day dey aur mujh per baat mein bari sakhti baratta hai.
यह मेरा भाई है। इस के पास निन्यानबे दुंबियाँ हैं और मेरे पास एक दुंबी है। अब इसका कहना है कि इसे भी मुझे सौप दे और बातचीत में इस ने मुझे दबा लिया।"
[David] said, "He has certainly wronged you in demanding your ewe [in addition] to his ewes. And indeed, many associates oppress one another, except for those who believe and do righteous deeds - and few are they." And David became certain that We had tried him, and he asked forgiveness of his Lord and fell down bowing [in prostration] and turned in repentance [to Allah ].
Aap ney farmaya! Iss ka apni dunbiyon kay sath teri aik dunbi mila lenay ka sawal be-shak teray upper aik zulm hai aur aksar hissay daar aur shareek ( aisay hi hotay hain kay ) aik doosray per zulm kertay hain siwaye unn kay jo eman laye aur jinhon ney nek amal kiyey aur aisay log boht hi kum hain aur ( hazrat ) dawwod ( alh-e-salam ) samajh gaye kay hum ney unhen aazmaya hai phir to apnay rab say istaghfaar kerney lagay aur aajzi kertay huyey gir paray aur ( poori tarah ) rujoo kiya.
उस ने कहा, "इस ने अपनी दुंबियों के साथ तेरी दुंबी को मिला लेने की माँग करके निश्चय ही तुझ पर ज़ुल्म किया है। और निस्संदेह बहुत-से साथ मिलकर रहने वाले एक-दूसरे पर ज़्यादती करते हैं, सिवाय उन लोगों के जो ईमान लाए और उन्होंने अच्छे कर्म किए। किन्तु ऐसे लोग थोड़े ही हैं।" अब दाऊद समझ गया कि यह तो हम ने उसे परीक्षा में डाला है। अतः उस ने अपने रब से क्षमा-याचना की और झुककर (सीधे सजदे में) गिर पड़ा और रुजू हुआ
So We forgave him that; and indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good place of return.
Pus hum ney bhi unn ka woh ( kasoor ) maaf ker diya yaqeenan woh humaray nazdeek baray martabay walay aur boht achay thikaney walay hain.
तो हम ने उस का वह क़सूर माफ़ कर दिया। और निश्चय ही हमारे यहाँ उस के लिए अनिवार्यतः सामीप्य और उत्तम ठिकाना है
[We said], "O David, indeed We have made you a successor upon the earth, so judge between the people in truth and do not follow [your own] desire, as it will lead you astray from the way of Allah ." Indeed, those who go astray from the way of Allah will have a severe punishment for having forgotten the Day of Account.
Aey dawood! Hum ney tumhen zamin mein khalifa bana diya tum logon kay darmiyan haq kay sath faislay kero aur apni nafsani khuwaish ki perwi na kero werna woh tumhen Allah ki raah say bhatka deygi yaqeenan jo log Allah ki raah say bhatak jatay hain unn kay liye sakht azab hai iss liye kay unhon ney hisab kay din ko bhula diya hai.
"ऐ दाऊद! हम ने धरती में तुझे ख़लीफ़ा (उत्तराधिकारी) बनाया है। अतः तू लोगों के बीच हक़ के साथ फ़ैसला करना और अपनी इच्छा का अनुपालन न करना कि वह तुझे अल्लाह के मार्ग से भटका दे। जो लोग अल्लाह के मार्ग से भटकते हैं, निश्चय ही उन के लिए कठोर यातना है, क्योंकि वे हिसाब के दिन को भूले रहे।-
And to David We gave Solomon. An excellent servant, indeed he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah ].
Aur hum ney dawwod ko suleman ( naami farzand ) ata farmaya jo bara acha bandah tha aur beyhad rujoo kerney wala tha.
और हम ने दाऊद को सुलैमान प्रदान किया। वह कितना अच्छा बन्दा था! निश्चय ही वह बहुत ही रुजू रहने वाला था।
[Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses.
Jab unkay samney shaam kay waqt tez-ro khasay ghoray paish kiye gaye.
याद करो, जबकि सन्ध्या समय उस के सामने सधे हुए द्रुतगामी घोड़े हाज़िर किए गए
And he said, "Indeed, I gave preference to the love of good [things] over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain [of darkness]."
To kehney lagay mein ney apnay perwerdigar ki yaad per inn ghoron ki mohabbat ko tarjeeh di yahan tak kay ( aftab ) chup gaya.
तो उस ने कहा, "मैंने इन के प्रति प्रेम अपने रब की याद के कारण अपनाया है।" यहाँ तक कि वे (घोड़े) ओट में छिप गए
[He said], "Return them to me," and set about striking [their] legs and necks.
Unn ( ghoron ) ko doobara meray samney lao! Phir to pindliyon aur gardano per hath pherna shoroo ker diya.
"उन्हें मेरे पास वापस लाओ!" फिर वह उन की पिंडलियों और गरदनों पर हाथ फेरने लगा
And We certainly tried Solomon and placed on his throne a body; then he returned.
Aur hum ney suleman ( alh-e-salam ) ki aazmaeesh ki aur unn kay takhat per aik jism daal diya phir uss ney rujoo kiya.
निश्चय ही हम ने सुलैमान को भी परीक्षा में डाला। और हम ने उस के तख़्त पर एक धड़ डाल दिया। फिर वह रुजू हुआ
He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower."
Kaha kay aey meray rab! Mujhay bakhsh day aur mujhay aisa mulk ata farma jo meray siwa kissi ( shaks ) kay laeeq na ho tu bara hi denay wala hai.
उस ने कहा, "ऐ मेरे रब! मुझे क्षमा कर दे और मुझे वह राज्य प्रदान कर, जो मेरे पश्चात किसी के लिए शोभनीय न हो। निश्चय ही तू बड़ा दाता है।"
So We subjected to him the wind blowing by his command, gently, wherever he directed,
Pus hum ney hawa ko unn kay ma-tehat ker diya woh aap kay hukum say jahan aap chahtay narmi say phoncha diya kerti thi.
तब हम ने वायु को उस के लिए वशीभूत कर दिया, जो उस के आदेश से, जहाँ वह पहुँचना चाहता, सरलतापूर्वक चलती थी
And [also] the devils [of jinn] - every builder and diver
Aur ( taqatwar ) jinnat ko bhi ( unn ka ma-tehat ker diya ) her imarat bananey walay ko aur ghota khor ko.
और शैतानों को भी (वशीभुत कर दिया), प्रत्येक निर्माता और ग़ोताख़ोर को
And others bound together in shackles.
Aur doosray jinnat ko bhi jo zanjeeron mein jakray rehtay.
और दूसरों को भी जो ज़ंजीरों में जकड़े हुए रहते
[We said], "This is Our gift, so grant or withhold without account."
Yeh hai humara atiya abb tu ehsan ker ya rol rakh kuch hisab nahi.
"यह हमारी बेहिसाब देन है। अब एहसान करो या रोको।"
And indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good place of return.
Unn kay liye humaray pass bara taqarrub hai aur boht acha thikana hai.
और निश्चय ही हमारे यहाँ उस के लिए अनिवार्यतः समीप्य और उत्तम ठिकाना है
