Then We exchanged in place of the bad [condition], good, until they increased [and prospered] and said, "Our fathers [also] were touched with hardship and ease." So We seized them suddenly while they did not perceive.
Phir hum ney uss bad haali ki jagah khushaali badal di yahan tak kay unn ko khoob taraqqi hui aur kehney lagay kay humaray aaba-o-ajdaad ko bhi tangi aur rahat paish aaee thi to hum ne unn ko dafatan pkara liya aur unn ko khabar bhi na thi.
फिर हमने दुख को सुख से बदल दिया यहाँ तक कि उन्हें ख़ूब तरक़्क़ी हुई और वे कहने लगे कि तकलीफ़ और ख़ुशी तो हमारे बाप-दादाओं को भी पहुँचती रही है, फिर हमने उनको अचानक पकड़ लिया और वे उसका गुमान भी न रखते थे।
Then, did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them at night while they were asleep?
Kiya phir bhi inn bastiyon kay rehney walay iss baat say bey fikar ho gaye hain kay unn per humara azab shab kay waqt aa paray jiss waqt woh sotay hon.
फिर क्या बस्ती वाले उससे बे-ख़ौफ़ हो गए हैं कि उन पर हमारा अज़ाब रात के वक़्त आ पड़े जबकि वे सोते हों।
Or did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in the morning while they were at play?
Aur kiya inn bastiyon kay rehney walay iss baat say bey fikar hogaye hain kay inn per humara azab din charhay aa paray jiss waqt kay woh apney khelon mein masghool hon.
या क्या बस्ती वाले इससे बे-ख़ौफ़ हो गए हैं कि उन पर हमारा अज़ाब आ पहुँचे दिन चढ़े जब वे खेलते हों।
Do they associate with Him those who create nothing and they are [themselves] created?
Kiya aison ko shareek thehratay hain jo kissi cheez ko peda na ker saken aur woh khud hi peda kiye gaye hon.
क्या वे शरीक बनाते हैं ऐसों को जो किसी चीज़ को पैदा नहीं करते बल्कि वे ख़ुद मख़लूक़ हैं।
Had Allah known any good in them, He would have made them hear. And if He had made them hear, they would [still] have turned away, while they were refusing.
Aur agar Allah Taalaa inn mein koi khoobi dekhta to inn ko sunnay ki tofiq dey deta aur agar inn ko abb suna dey to zaroor roo gardani keren gay bey rukhi kertay huye.
और अगर अल्लाह उन में किसी भलाई को देखता तो वह ज़रूर उनको सुनने की तौफ़ीक़ देता, और अगर अब वह उन्हें सुनवा दे तो वे ज़रूर मुँह फेर लेंगे बेरुख़ी करते हुए।
The ones with whom you made a treaty but then they break their pledge every time, and they do not fear Allah .
Jin say aap ney ehad-o-paymaan ker liya phir bhi woh apney ehad-o-paymaan ko her martaba tor detay hain aur bilkul perhez nahi kertay.
जिनसे आपने अहद लिया फिर वे अपना अहद हर बार तोड़ देते हैं और वे डरते नहीं।
Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.
Unn logon say laro jo Allah per aur qayamat kay din per eman nahi latay jo Allah aur uss kay rasool ki haram kerda shey ko haram nahi jantay na deen-e-haq ko qabool kertay hain unn logon mein say jinhen kitab di gaee hai yahan tak kay woh zaleel-o-khuwar hoker apney hath say jizya ada keren.
उन अहले-किताब से लड़ो जो न अल्लाह पर ईमान रखते हैं और न आख़िरत के दिन पर और न अल्लाह और उसके रसूल के हराम ठहराए हुए को हराम ठहराते हैं और न दीने-हक़ को अपना दीन बनाते हैं, यहाँ तक कि वे अपने हाथ से जिज़्या दें और छोटे बनकर रहें।
Then do they feel secure that there will not come to them an overwhelming [aspect] of the punishment of Allah or that the Hour will not come upon them suddenly while they do not perceive?
Kiya woh iss baat say bey khof hogaye hain kay inn kay pass Allah kay azabon mein say koi aam azab aajaye ya inn per achanak qayamt toot paray aur woh bey khabar hi hon.
क्या ये लोग इस बात से मुतमइन हैं कि उन पर अज़ाबे-इलाही की कोई आफ़त आ पड़े या अचानक उन पर क़यामत आ जाए और वे उससे बेख़बर हों।
And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created.
Aur jin jin ko yeh log Allah Taalaa kay siwa pukartay hain woh kissi cheez ko peda nahi ker saktay bulkay woh khud peda kiye huye hain.
और जिनको लोग अल्लाह के सिवा पुकारते हैं वह किसी चीज़ को पैदा नहीं कर सकते और वे ख़ुद पैदा किए हुए हैं।
Your god is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter - their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant.
Tum sab ka mabood sirf Allah Taalaa akela hai aur aakhirat per eman na rakhney walon kay dil munkir hain aur woh khud takabbur say bharay huye hain.
तुम्हारा माबूद एक ही माबूद है मगर जो लोग आख़िरत पर ईमान नहीं रखते उनके दिल मुनकिर हैं और वे तकब्बुर करते हैं।
And you would think them awake, while they were asleep. And We turned them to the right and to the left, while their dog stretched his forelegs at the entrance. If you had looked at them, you would have turned from them in flight and been filled by them with terror.
Aap khayal kertay hain kay woh beydaar hain halankay woh soye huye thay khud hum hi unhen dayen bayen kerwaten dilaya kertay thay unn ka kutta bhi chokhat per apney hath paon phelaye huye tha. Agar aap jhank ker unhen dekhna chahatay to zaroor ultay paon bhag kharay hotay aur unn kay rob say aap per dehshat chah jati.
और तुम समझते कि वे जाग रहे हैं, हालाँकि वे सोए हुए होते। हम उन्हें दाएँ और बाएँ फेरते और उन का कुत्ता ड्योढ़ी पर अपनी दोनों भुजाएँ फैलाए हुए होता। यदि तुम उन्हें कहीं झाँककर देखते तो उन के पास से उलटे पाँव भाग खड़े होते और तुम में उस का भय समा जाता
And warn them, [O Muhammad], of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded; and [yet], they are in [a state of] heedlessness, and they do not believe.
To unhen uss ranj-o-afsos kay din ka darr suna dey jabkay kaam anjam ko phoncha diya jayega aur yeh log ghaflat aur bey emani mein hi reh jayengay.
उन्हें पश्चाताप के दिन से डराओ, जबकि मामले का फ़ैसला कर दिया जाएगा, और उन का हाल यह है कि वे ग़फ़लत में पड़े हुए हैं और वे ईमान नहीं ला रहे हैं
And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.
Aasman ko mehfooz chat bhi hum ney hi banaya hai. Lekin log iss ki qudrat kay namoono per dehan hi nahi dhartay.
और हम ने आकाश को एक सुरक्षित छत बनाया, किन्तु वे हैं कि उस की निशानियों से कतरा जाते हैं
Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?"
Ya yeh uss waqt mojood thay jabkay hum ney farishton ko moanniss peda kiya.
क्या हम ने फ़रिश्तों को औरतें बनाया और यह उन की आँखों देखी बात है?"
