پس شاید کہ آپ اس وحی کے کسی حصے کو چھوڑ دینے والے ہیں جو آپ کی طرف نازل کی جاتی ہے اور اس سے آپ کا دل تنگ ہے ، صرف ان کی اس بات پر کہ اس پر کوئی خزانہ کیوں نہیں اترا؟ یا اس کے ساتھ کوئی فرشتہ ہی آتا ، سن لیجئے! آپ تو صرف ڈرانے والے ہی ہیں اور ہرچیز کا ذمہ دار اللہ تعالٰی ہے ۔

Then would you possibly leave [out] some of what is revealed to you, or is your breast constrained by it because they say, "Why has there not been sent down to him a treasure or come with him an angel?" But you are only a warner. And Allah is Disposer of all things.

یہ ہے تیرے پروردگار کی اس مہربانی کا ذکر جو اس نے اپنے بندے زکریا پر کی تھی ۔

[This is] a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah

ان کے پاس ان کے رب کی طرف سے جو بھی نئی نئی نصیحت آتی ہے اسے وہ کھیل کود میں ہی سنتے ہیں ۔

No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play

اور ان کے پاس رحمان کی طرف سے جو بھی نئی نصیحت آئی یہ اس سے روگردانی کرنے والے بن گئے ۔

And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.

کیا آپ نے نہیں دیکھا کہ اللہ تعالٰی آسمان سے پانی اتارتا ہے اور اسے زمین کی سوتوں میں پہنچاتا ہے پھر اسی کے ذریعہ سے مختلف قسم کی کھیتیاں اگاتا ہے پھر وہ خشک ہو جاتی ہیں اور آپ انہیں زرد رنگ میں دیکھتے ہیں پھر انہیں ریزہ ریزہ کر دیتا ہے اس میں عقلمندوں کیلئے بہت زیادہ نصیحت ہے ۔

Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky and makes it flow as springs [and rivers] in the earth; then He produces thereby crops of varying colors; then they dry and you see them turned yellow; then He makes them [scattered] debris. Indeed in that is a reminder for those of understanding.

تو کیا یہ قیامت کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں کہ وہ ان کے پاس اچانک آجائے یقیناً اس کی علامتیں تو آچکی ہیں پھر جبکہ ان کے پاس قیامت آجائے انہیں نصیحت کرنا کہاں ہوگا ۔

Then do they await except that the Hour should come upon them unexpectedly? But already there have come [some of] its indications. Then what good to them, when it has come, will be their remembrance?

اور نصیحت کرتے رہیں یقیناً یہ نصیحت ایمان والوں کو نفع دے گی ۔

And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.

ہم نے اسے سبب نصیحت اور مسافروں کے فائدے کی چیز بنایا ہے ۔

We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers,

اور جو لوگ پرہیزگار ہیں ان پر ان کی باز پرس کا کوئی اثر نہ پہنچے گا اور لیکن ان کے ذمہ نصیحت کر دینا ہے شاید وہ بھی تقویٰ اختیار کریں ۔

And those who fear Allah are not held accountable for the disbelievers at all, but [only for] a reminder - that perhaps they will fear Him.

یقیناً یہ قرآن پرہیزگاروں کے لئے نصیحت ہے ۔

And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteous.

بیشک یہ نصیحت ہے پس جو چاہے اپنے رب کی طرف راہ اختیار کرے ۔

Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way.

ہم نے دوزخ کے داروغے صرف فرشتے رکھے ہیں اور ہم نے ان کی تعداد صرف کافروں کی آزمائش کے لئے مقرر کی ہے تاکہ اہل کتاب یقین کرلیں اور اہل ایمان کے ایمان اور اضافہ ہو جائے اور اہل کتاب اور اہل ایمان شک نہ کریں اور جن کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے وہ اور کافر کہیں کہ اس بیان سے اللہ تعالٰی کی کیا مراد ہے؟ اس طرح اللہ تعالٰی جسے چاہتا ہے گمراہ کرتا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے ہدایت دیتا ہے تیرے رب کے لشکروں کو اس کے سوا کوئی نہیں جانتا یہ تو کل بنی آدم کے لیے سراسر پندونصیحت ہے ۔

And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity.

یقیناً یہ تو ایک نصیحت ہے پس جو چاہے اپنے رب کی راہ لے لے ۔

Indeed, this is a reminder, so he who wills may take to his Lord a way.

یہ ٹھیک نہیں قرآن تو نصیحت ( کی چیز ) ہے ۔

No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder;

تو آپ نصیحت کرتے رہیں اگر نصیحت کچھ فائدہ دے ۔

So remind, if the reminder should benefit;

پس آپ نصیحت کر دیا کریں ( کیونکہ ) آپ صرف نصیحت کرنے والے ہیں ۔

So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder.
