In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Shuroo Allah kay naam say jo bara meharban nehayat reham kerney wala hai
अल्लाह के नाम से जो बड़ा कृपालु और अत्यन्त दयावान है।
When the sky has split [open]
Jab asman phat jaey ga
जबकि आकाश फट जाएगा,
And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]
Aur apney rab kay hokum per kan lagaey ga aur issi kay laiq wo hay
और वह अपने रब की सुनेगा, और उसे यही चाहिए भी
And when the earth has been extended
Aur jab zameen ( khench ker ) phela di jaey gi
जब धरती फैला दी जाएगी
And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it]
Aur iss mein jo hai ussay wo ugal degi aur khali hojaigi
और जो कुछ उस के भीतर है उसे बाहर डालकर खाली हो जाएगी
And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] -
Aur apney rab ky hokoom per kaan lagaye gi aur isi kay laeeq wo hy
और वह अपने रब की सुनेगी, और उसे यही चाहिए भी
O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it.
Aey insaan! Tu apney rab say milney tak yeh koshish aur tamam kaam aur mehnatein kerky ussymulaqatkerney wala hy
ऐ मनुष्य! तू मशक़्क़त करता हुआ अपने रब ही की ओर खिंचा चला जा रहा है और अन्ततः उस से मिलने वाला है
Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,
To ( us waqt ) jis shaks kydahaney hath mein aamaal naama diya jaiyga
फिर जिस किसी को उस का कर्म-पत्र उस के दाहिने हाथ में दिया गया,
He will be judged with an easy account
Us ka hisab to bari aasani say liya jaey ga
तो उस से आसान, सरसरी हिसाब लिया जाएगा
And return to his people in happiness.
Aur wo apney ehal ki taraf hansi khushi lot ayega
और वह अपने लोगों की ओर ख़ुश-ख़ुश पलटेगा
But as for he who is given his record behind his back,
Han jis shaks ka aamaal nama us ki peeth ky peechy say diya jaey ga
और रह वह व्यक्ति जिस का कर्म-पत्र (उस के बाएँ हाथ में) उस की पीठ के पीछे से दिया गया,
He will cry out for destruction
To wo maut ko bulaney lagyga
तो वह विनाश (मृत्यु) को पुकारेगा,
And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.
Aur bharakti hui jahanum meindakhil hoga
और दहकती आग में जा पड़ेगा
Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness;
Yeh sahks apnay mutalqeen mein ( duniya mein ) khush tah
वह अपने लोगों में मग्न था,
Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah ].
Isska khayal tah kay Allah ki taraf loot ker hi na jaey ga
उस ने यह समझ रखा था कि उसे कभी पलटना नहीं है
But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing.
Que nahi hanlankay iska rab usy bakhobi dekh raha tha
क्यों नहीं, निश्चय ही उस का रब तो उसे देख रहा था!
So I swear by the twilight glow
mujhy shafaq ki qasam!aur rat ki!
अतः कुछ नहीं, मैं क़सम खाता हूँ सांध्य-लालिमा की,
And [by] the night and what it envelops
Aur iski jama kerda chezon ki qasam!
और रात की और उस के समेट लेने की,
And [by] the moon when it becomes full
Aur chand ki jab kay wo kamil hojata hay
और चन्द्रमा की जबकि वह पूर्ण हो जाता है,
[That] you will surely experience state after state.
Yaqenan tum ik halat say dosri halat per phuncho gay
निश्चय ही तुम्हें मंजिल पर मंजिल चढ़ना है
So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe,
Inhein ki hogaya kay iman nahi laty
फिर उन्हें क्या हो गया है कि ईमान नहीं लाते?
And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah ]?
Aur jab in kay pass quran parha jata hay to sajda nahi kerty
और जब उन्हें कुरआन पढ़कर सुनाया जाता है तो सजदे में नहीं गिर पड़ते?
But those who have disbelieved deny,
balky jinhon nay kufur kiya wo jhotla rahy hein
नहीं, बल्कि इनकार करने वाले तो झुठलाते हैं,
And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves.
aur Allah khob janta hay jo kuch yah dilon mein rakhty hein
हालाँकि जो कुछ वे अपने अन्दर एकत्र कर रहे हैं, अल्लाह उसे भली-भाँति जानता है
So give them tidings of a painful punishment,
Inhen alamnak azabon ki khush khabri suna do
अतः उन्हें दुखद यातना की मंगल सूचना दे दो
Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted.
Han eman walon aur nek amal walon be shumar aur na khtam honey wala ajar hay
अलबत्ता जो लोग ईमान लाए और उन्होंने अच्छे कर्म किए उन के लिए कभी न समाप्त होने वाला प्रतिदान है
