Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them which We had established upon the earth as We have not established you? And We sent [rain from] the sky upon them in showers and made rivers flow beneath them; then We destroyed them for their sins and brought forth after them a generation of others.
Kiya enhon ney dekha nahi kay hum inn say pehlay kitni jamaton ko halak ker chukay hain jin ko hum ney duniya mein aisi qooat di thi kay tum ko woh qooat nahi di aur hum ney unn per khoob barishen barsaeen aur hum ney unn kay neechay say nehren jari kin. Phir hum ney unn ko unn kay gunahon kay sabab halak ker daala aur unn kay baad doosri jamaton ko peda ker diya.
क्या उन्होंने नहीं देखा कि हमने उनसे पहले कितनी क़ौमों को हलाक कर दिया, उनको हमने ज़मीन में उतनी ताक़त दी थी जितनी तुमको नहीं दी और हमने उन पर आसमान से ख़ूब बारिश बरसाई, और हमने नहरें जारी कीं जो उनके नीचे बहती थीं फिर हमने उनको उनके गुनाहों की वजह से हलाक कर डाला और उनके बाद हमने दूसरी क़ौमों को उठाया।
Then We sent after them Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were unjust toward them. So see how was the end of the corrupters.
Phir inn kay baad hum ney musa ( alh-e-salam ) ko apney dalaeel dey ker firaon aur uss kay umraa kay pass bheja magar unn logon ney inn kay bilkul haq ada na kiya. So dekhiye unn mufisdon ka kiya anjam hua?
फिर उसके बाद हमने मूसा (अलै॰) को अपनी निशानियों के साथ भेजा फ़िरऔन और उसकी क़ौम के सरदारों के पास मगर उन्होंने हमारी निशानियों के साथ ज़ुल्म किया, पस देखो कि फ़साद मचाने वालों का क्या अंजाम हुआ।
And there followed them successors who inherited the Scripture [while] taking the commodities of this lower life and saying, "It will be forgiven for us." And if an offer like it comes to them, they will [again] take it. Was not the covenant of the Scripture taken from them that they would not say about Allah except the truth, and they studied what was in it? And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who fear Allah , so will you not use reason?
Phir inn kay baad aisay log inn kay janasheen huye kay kitab ko inn say hasil kiya woh iss duniya-e-faani ka maal mataa ley letay hain aur kehtay hain kay humari zaroor maghfirat hojaye gi halankay agar inn kay pass wesa hi maal mataa aaney lagay to iss ko bhi ley len gay. Kiya inn say iss kitab kay iss mazmoon ka ehad nahi liya gaya kay Allah ki taraf ba-juz haq baat kay aur kissi baat ki nisbat na keren aur enhon ney iss kitab mein jo kuch tha uss ko parh liya aur aakhirat wala ghar unn logon kay liye behtar hai jo taqwa rakhtay hain phri kiya tum nahi samajhtay.
फिर उनके पीछे ना-अहल लोग आए जो किताब के वारिस बने, वे इसी दुनिया के सामान लेते हैं और कहते हैं कि हम यक़ीनन बख़्श दिए जाएंगे, और अगर ऐसा ही सामान उनके सामने फिर आए तो वे उसको ले लेंगे, क्या उनसे किताब में इसका अहद नहीं लिया गया है कि अल्लाह के नाम पर हक़ के सिवा कोई और बात न कहें, और उन्होंने पढ़ा है जो कुछ उसमें लिखा है, और आख़िरत का घर बेहतर है डरने वालों के लिए, क्या तुम समझते नहीं?
Or [lest] you say, "It was only that our fathers associated [others in worship] with Allah before, and we were but descendants after them. Then would You destroy us for what the falsifiers have done?"
Ya yun kaho kay pehlay pehlay shirk to humaray baron ney kiya aur hum unn kay baad unn ki nasal mein huye so kiya inn ghalat raah walon kay fail per tu hum ko halakat mein daal dey ga?
या कहो कि हमारे बाप-दादा ने पहले से शिर्क किया था और हम उनके बाद उनकी नस्ल में हुए, तो क्या तू हमको हलाक करेगा उस काम पर जो ग़लत-कार लोगों ने किया।
Then We made you successors in the land after them so that We may observe how you will do.
Phir unn kay baad hum ney duniya mein bajaye unn kay tum ko janasheen kiya takay hum dekh len kay tum kiss tarah kaam kertay ho.
फिर हमने उनके बाद तुमको मुल्क में जानशीन बनाया; ताकि हम देखें कि तुम कैसा अमल करते हो।
Then We sent after them Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his establishment with Our signs, but they behaved arrogantly and were a criminal people
Phir inn payghumbaron kay baad hum ney musa ( alh-e-salam ) aur haroon ( alh-e-salam ) ko firaon aur uss kay sardaron kay pass apni nishaniyan dey ker bheja. So unhon ney takabbur kiya aur woh log mujrim qom thay.
फिर हमने उनके बाद मूसा और हारून (अलैहिमस्सलाम) को फ़िरऔन और उसके सरदारों के पास अपनी निशानियाँ देकर भेजा मगर उन्होंने घमंड किया और वे मुजरिम लोग थे।
Has there not reached you the news of those before you - the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud and those after them? No one knows them but Allah . Their messengers brought them clear proofs, but they returned their hands to their mouths and said, "Indeed, we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent, and indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt."
Kiya tumharay pass tum say pehlay kay logon ki khabren nahi aaen? Yani qom-e-nooh ki aur aad-o-samood ki aur unn kay baad walon ki jinhen siwaye Allah Taalaa kay aur koi nahi janta unn kay pass unn kay rasool moajzzay laye lekin unhon ney apney hath apney mun mein daba liye aur saaf keh diya kay jo kuch tumhen dey ker bheja gaya hai hum uss kay munkir hain aur jiss cheez ki taraf tum humen bula rahey ho humen to iss mein bara bhari shuba hai.
क्या तुमको उन लोगों की ख़बर नहीं पहुँची जो तुमसे पहले गुज़र चुके हैं क़ौमे-नूह, और आद और समूद और जो लोग उनके बाद हुए हैं जिनको अल्लाह के सिवा कोई नहीं जानता, उनके पैग़म्बर उनके पास दलाइल लेकर आए तो उन्होंने अपने हाथ उनके मुँह में दे दिए और कहा कि तुम जो कुछ देकर भेजे गए हो हम उसको नहीं मानते और जिस चीज़ की तरफ़ तुम हमको बुलाते हो हम उसके बारे में सख़्त उलझन वाले शक में पड़े हुए हैं।
And We will surely cause you to dwell in the land after them. That is for he who fears My position and fears My threat."
Aur inn kay baad hum khud tumhen iss zamin mein basayen gay. Yeh hai unn kay liye jo meray samney kharay honey ka darr rakhen aur meri waeed say khofzada rahen.
और उनके बाद तुमको ज़मीन पर बसाएंगे, यह उस शख़्स के लिए है जो मेरे सामने खड़ा होने से डरे और जो मेरी वईद से डरे।
But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil -
Phir inn kay baad aisay na khalaf peda huye kay unhon ney namaz zaya ker di aur nafsani khuwishon kay peechay parr gaye so unn ka nuksan unn kay aagay aayega.
फिर उन के पश्चात ऐसे बुरे लोग उन के उत्तराधिकारी हुए, जिन्होंने नमाज़ को गँवाया और मन की इच्छाओं के पीछे पड़े। अतः जल्द ही वे गुमराही (के परिणाम) से दोचार होगा
Then We produced after them a generation of others.
Inn kay baad hum ney aur bhi ummat peda ki.
फिर उन के पश्चात हम ने एक दूसरी नस्ल को उठाया;
Then We produced after them other generations.
Inn kay baad hum ney aur bhi boht si ummaten peda kin.
फिर हम ने उन के पश्चात दूसरी नस्लों को उठाया
And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors.
Aur hum ney boht si woh bastiyan tabah kerdin jo apnay aish-o-ishrat mein itraney lagi thin yeh hain unn ki rehaeesh ki jaghen jo unn kay baad boht kum hi abad ki gaeen aur hum hi hain aakhir sab kuch kay waris.
हम ने कितनी ही बस्तियों को विनष्ट कर डाला, जिन्होंने अपनी गुज़र-बसर के संसाधन पर इतराते हुए अकृतज्ञता दिखाई। तो वे हैं उन के घर, जो उन के बाद आबाद थोड़े ही हुए। अन्ततः हम ही वारिस हुए
The people of Noah denied before them and the [disbelieving] factions after them, and every nation intended [a plot] for their messenger to seize him, and they disputed by [using] falsehood to [attempt to] invalidate thereby the truth. So I seized them, and how [terrible] was My penalty.
Qom-e-nooh ney aur unn kay baad kay girohon ney bhi jhutlaya tha. Aur her ummat ney apnay rasool ko giriftar kerleney ka iradah kiya aur baatil kay zariyey kaj behasiyan kien takay unn say haq ko bigar den pus mein ney unn ko pakar liya so meri taraf say kaisi saza hui.
उन से पहले नूह की क़ौम ने और उन के पश्चात दूसरे गिरोहों ने भी झुठलाया और हर समुदाय के लोगों ने अपने रसूलों के बारे में इरादा किया कि उन्हें पकड़ लें और वे सत्य का सहारा लेकर झगडे, ताकि उस के द्वारा सत्य को उखाड़ दें। अन्ततः मैंने उन्हें पकड़ लिया। तौ कैसी रही मेरी सज़ा!
Like the custom of the people of Noah and of 'Aad and Thamud and those after them. And Allah wants no injustice for [His] servants.
Jesay ummat-e-nooh aur aad-o-samood aur inn kay baad walon ka ( haal hua ) Allah apnay bandon per kissi tarah ka zulm kerna nahi chahata.
जैसे नूह की क़ौम और आद और समूद और उन के पश्चात्वर्ती लोगों का हाल हुआ। अल्लाह तो ऐसा नहीं कि बन्दों पर कोई ज़ुल्म करना चाहे
And they did not become divided until after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord [postponing the penalty] until a specified time, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, those who were granted inheritance of the Scripture after them are, concerning it, in disquieting doubt.
Unn logon ney apnay pass ilm aajaney kay baad hi ikhtilaf kiya ( aur woh bhi ) bahami zidd behas say aur agar aap kay rab ki baat aik waqt-e-muqarrara tak kay liye pehlay hi say qarar paagaee hui na hoti to yaqeenan unn ka faisla ho chuka hota aur jinn logon ko unn kay baad kitab di gaee hai woh bhi uss ki taraf say uljhan walay shak mein paray huye hain.
उन्होंने तो परस्पर एक-दूसरे पर ज़्यादती करने के उद्देश्य से इस के पश्चात विभेद किया कि उन के पास ज्ञान आ चुका था। और यदि तुम्हारे रब की ओर से एक नियत अवधि तक के लिए बात पहले निश्चित न हो चुकी होती तो उन के बीच फ़ैसला चुका दिया गया होता। किन्तु जो लोग उन के पश्चात किताब के वारिस हुए वे उस की ओर से एक उलझन में डाल देने वाले संदेह में पड़े हुए हैं
And [there is a share for] those who came after them, saying, "Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts [any] resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful."
Aur ( unn kay liye ) jo inn kay baad aayen jo kahen gay kay aey huamray perwerdigar humen baksh dey aur humaray unn bhaiyon ko bhi jo hum say pehlay eman laa chukay hain aur eman daaron ki taraf say humaray dil mein keena ( aur dushmani ) naa daal aey humaray rab be-shak tu shafqat aur meharbani kerney wala hai.
और (इस माल में उन का भी हिस्सा है) जो उन के बाद आए, वे कहते हैं, "ऐ हमारे रब! हमें क्षमा कर दे और हमारे उन भाइयों को भी जो ईमान लाने में हम से अग्रसर रहे और हमारे दिलों में ईमान वालों के लिए कोई विद्वेष न रख। ऐ हमारे रब! तू निश्चय ही बड़ा करुणामय, अत्यन्त दयावान है।"
