In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Shuroo Allah kay naam say jo bara meharban nehayat reham kerney wala hai
अल्लाह के नाम से जो बड़ा कृपालु और अत्यन्त दयावान है।
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness]
Jab sooraj lappet liya jaey ga
जब सूर्य लपेट दिया जाएगा,
And when the stars fall, dispersing,
Aur jab sitary by noor hojaein gay
सारे तारे मैले हो जाएँगे,
And when the mountains are removed
Aur jab pahar chalaye jaein gya
जब पहाड़ चलाए जाएँगे,
And when full-term she-camels are neglected
Aur jab das mah ki hamla oontniyan chor di jaein gi
जब दस मास की गाभिन ऊँटनियाँ आज़ाद छोड़ दी जाएँगी,
And when the wild beasts are gathered
Aur jab wehshi janwar ikhattay kiey jaein gay
जब जंगली जानवर एकत्र किए जाएँगे,
And when the seas are filled with flame
Aur jab samander bharka diey jaien gay
जब समुद्र भड़का दिया जाएँगे,
And when the souls are paired
Aur jab janein ( jimson say ) mila dein jaein gein
जब लोग क़िस्म-क़िस्म कर दिए जाएँगे,
And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked
Aur jab zinda gari hoi larki say sawal kiya jaey ga
और जब जीवित गाड़ी गई लड़की से पूछा जाएगा,
For what sin she was killed
Kay kis gunha ki waja say wo qatal ki gae
कि उस की हत्या किस गुनाह के कारण की गई,
And when the pages are made public
Aur jab nama amal khol diey jaein gay
और जब कर्म-पत्र फैला दिए जाएँगे,
And when the sky is stripped away
Aur jab asman ki khal utar li jaey gai
और जब आकाश की खाल उतार दी जाएगी,
And when Hellfire is set ablaze
Aur jab jahanum bharkai jaei gi
जब जहन्नम को दहकाया जाएगा,
And when Paradise is brought near,
Aur jab jant nazdek kerdi jaey gi
और जब जन्नत निकट कर दी जाएगी,
A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it].
To us din her shaks jan lyga jo kuch yeh ker aya hoga
तो कोई भी व्यक्ति जान लेगा कि उस ने क्या उपस्थित किया है
So I swear by the retreating stars -
Mein qasam khata hon pechay hatnay waly
अतः नहीं! मैं क़सम खाता हूँ पीछे हटने वालों की,
Those that run [their courses] and disappear -
Chalnay phirney waly chupney waly sitaron ki
चलने वालों, छिपने-दुबकने-वालों की
And by the night as it closes in
Aur rat ki jab janey lagy
साक्षी है रात्रि जब वह प्रस्थान करे,
And by the dawn when it breathes
Aur subha ki jab chamek ney lagy
और साक्षी है प्रातः जब वह साँस ले
[That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger
Yaqenan yeh ik buzrug rasool ka kaha howa hay
निश्चय ही वह एक आदरणीय संदेशवाहक की लाई हुई वाणी है,
[Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position],
Jo qooat wala hay arsh waly ( Allah ) kay nazdek buland martaba hay
जो शक्ति वाला है, सिंहासन वाले के यहाँ जिस की पैठ है
Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy.
Jis ki ( asmanon mein ) ita-at ki jati hay amen hy
उस का आदेश माना जाता है, वहाँ वह विश्वासपात्र है
And your companion is not [at all] mad.
Aur tumhara sathi dewana nahi hay
तुम्हारा साथी कोई दीवाना नहीं,
And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon.
isnay us ( farishty ) ko asman kay kholy kinary per dekha bhi hay
उस ने तो (पराकाष्ठान के) प्रत्यक्ष क्षितिज पर होकर उस (फ़रिश्ते) को देखा है
And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen.
Aur yeh ghaib ki baton ko batlaney mein bakhil bhi nahi
और वह परोक्ष के मामले में कृपण नहीं है,
And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens].
Aur yeh quran shytan mardod ka kalam nahi
और वह (क़ुरआन) किसी धुतकारे हुए शैतान की लाई हुई वाणी नहीं है
So where are you going?
Phir tum kahan jarahy ho
फिर तुम किधर जा रहे हो?
It is not except a reminder to the worlds
Yeh to tamam jahan walon kay liey nasehat nama hay
वह तो सारे संसार के लिए बस एक अनुस्मृति है,
For whoever wills among you to take a right course.
( bilkhosos ) us kay liey jo tum mein say sedhi rah per chalna chahy
उस के लिए तो तुम में से सीधे मार्ग पर चलना चाहे
And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds.
Aur tum baghair parwardigar e alam kay chahaye kuch nahi chah saktay.
और तुम नहीं चाह सकते सिवाय इस के कि सारे जहान का रब अल्लाह चाहे
