In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Shuroo Allah kay naam say jo bara meharban nehayat reham kerney wala hai
अल्लाह के नाम से जो बड़ा कृपालु और अत्यन्त दयावान है।
The Prophet frowned and turned away
Wo turush ro howa aur mon mor lia
उस ने त्योरी चढ़ाई और मुँह फेर लिया,
Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting].
( sirf isliey ) kay uskay pass ik nabina aya
इस कारण कि उस के पास अन्धा आ गया।
But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified
Tujhy kia khabar shayad wo sanwar jata
और तुझे क्या मालूम शायद वह स्वयं को सँवारता-निखारता हो
Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him?
Ya nasehat sunta or usy nesehat fiada phunchati
या नसीहत हासिल करता हो तो नसीहत उस के लिए लाभदायक हो?
As for he who thinks himself without need,
Jo be parwaii kerta hay
रहा वह व्यक्ति जो धनी हो गया है
To him you give attention.
Uski taraf to pori twaja kerta hy
तू उस के पीछे पड़ा है -
And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified.
halankay us kay na sanwarney say tujh per koi ilzam nahi
हालाँकि वह अपने को न निखारे तो तुझ पर कोई ज़िम्मेदारी नहीं आती -
But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge]
Aur jo shaks tery pass dorta hoywa ata hay
और रहा वह व्यक्ति जो स्वयं ही तेरे पास दौड़ता हुआ आया,
While he fears [ Allah ],
Aur wo der ( bhi ) raha hay
और वह डरता भी है,
From him you are distracted.
To us say byrukhi barta hay
तो तू उस से बेपरवाई करता है
No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder;
Yeh thek nahi quran is nasehat ( ki chez ) hay
कदापि नहीं, वे (आयतें) तो महत्वपूर्ण नसीहत हैं -
So whoever wills may remember it.
jo chahy ussy nasehat ly
तो जो चाहे उसे याद कर ले -
[It is recorded] in honored sheets,
( ye to ) purazmat sahifon mein hay
पवित्र पन्नों में अंकित हैं,
Exalted and purified,
Jo buland o bala or pak saf hein
प्रतिष्ठि्त, उच्च,
[Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels,
Asy likhney walon kay haton mein hy
ऐसे कातिबों के हाथों में रहा करते हैं
Noble and dutiful.
Jo buzurgh or pakbaz hein
जो प्रतिष्ठित और नेक हैं
Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he.
Allah ki mar insan per kaisa nashukra hay
विनष्ट हुआ मनुष्य! कैसा अकृतज्ञ है!
From what substance did He create him?
Ussy Allah nay kis chez say paida kiya
उसको किस चीज़ से पैदा किया?
From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him;
Ussy ik nutfay say phir andazy per rakha ussko
तनिक-सी बूँद से उसको पैदा किया, तो उस के लिए एक अंदाजा ठहराया,
Then He eased the way for him;
Phir us kay liey rasta asan kiya
फिर मार्ग को देखो, उसे सुगम कर दिया,
Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him.
Phir usy mot di aur phir qabar mein dafan kiya
फिर उसे मृत्यु दी और क्रब में उसे रखवाया,
Then when He wills, He will resurrect him.
Phir jab chaey ga zinda ker day ga
फिर जब चाहेगा उसे (जीवित करके) उठा खड़ा करेगा। -
No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him.
Hergiz nahi unsay ab tak Allah kay hokum ki byja awari nahi ki
कदापि नहीं, उस ने उसको पूरा नहीं किया जिस का आदेश अल्लाह ने उसे दिया है
Then let mankind look at his food -
Insan ko chahye kay apnay khaney ko dekhy
अतः मनुष्य को चाहिए कि अपने भोजन को देखे,
How We poured down water in torrents,
Kay hum nay khob pani barsaya
कि हम ने ख़ूब पानी बरसाया,
Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts],
Phir phara zamen ko achi tarah
फिर धरती को विशेष रूप से फाड़ा,
And caused to grow within it grain
Phir is mein anaj ugaey
फिर हम ने उस में उगाए अनाज,
And grapes and herbage
Or angoor or tarkari
और अंगूर और तरकारी,
And olive and palm trees
Aur zeitoon or khajoor
और ज़ैतून और खजूर,
And gardens of dense shrubbery
Aur gunjan baghat
और घने बाग़,
And fruit and grass -
Aur mywa ( aur ghass ) chara ( bhi ugaya )
और मेवे और घास-चारा,
[As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock.
Tumhary istamal o faidy kay liey or tumhary chopayon kay liey
तुम्हारे लिए और तुम्हारे चौपायों के लिेए जीवन-सामग्री के रूप में
But when there comes the Deafening Blast
Pus jab kay kan bhyray ker dyney wali ( qiyamat ) ajaey gi
फिर जब वह बहरा कर देने वाली प्रचंड आवाज़ आएगी,
On the Day a man will flee from his brother
Us din admi apnay bhai say
जिस दिन आदमी भागेगा अपने भाई से,
And his mother and his father
Aur apni maa or bap say
और अपनी माँ और अपने बाप से,
And his wife and his children,
Aur apni biwi or apni ulad say bhagy ga
और अपनी पत्नी और अपने बेटों से
For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him.
in mein say her ik ko us din asi fikar ( damengeer ) hogi jo uskay liey kafi hogi
उन में से प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को उस दिन ऐसी पड़ी होगी जो उसे दूसरों से बेपरवाह कर देगी
[Some] faces, that Day, will be bright -
Us din bohat say chehry roshan hongy
कितने ही चेहरे उस दिन रौशन होंगे,
Laughing, rejoicing at good news.
Jo hansty hoy aur hashshash bashshash hongay
हँसते, प्रफुल्लित
And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust.
Aur baht say chehry usdin ghubar alod hon gay
और कितने ही चेहरे होंगे जिन पर उस दिन धूल पड़ी होगी,
Blackness will cover them.
Jis per siyahi charhi hoi hogi
उन पर कलौंस छा रही होगी
Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.
wo yehi kafir badkirdar log hon gay
वहीं होंगे इनकार करने वाले दुराचारी लोग!
