الفاظ ( عَلٰٓي )

ہم اس بستی والوں پر آسمانی عذاب نازل کرنے والے ہیں اس وجہ سے کہ یہ بے حکم ہو رہے ہیں ۔

Indeed, we will bring down on the people of this city punishment from the sky because they have been defiantly disobedient."

اور اگر وہ دونوں تجھ پر اس بات کا دباؤ ڈالیں کہ تو میرے ساتھ شریک کرے جس کا تجھے علم نہ ہو تو تو ان کا کہنا نہ ماننا ، ہاں دنیا میں ان کے ساتھ اچھی طرح بسر کرنا اور اس کی راہ چلنا جو میری طرف جھکا ہوا ہو تمہارا سب کا لوٹنا میری ہی طرف ہے تم جو کچھ کرتے ہو اس سے پھر میں تمہیں خبردار کردوں گا ۔

But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.

ان میں سے اکثر لوگوں پر بات ثابت ہو چکی ہے سو یہ لوگ ایمان نہ لائیں گے ۔

Already the word has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe.

ہم آج کے دن ان کے منہ پر مہر لگا دیں گے اور ان کے ہاتھ ہم سے باتیں کریں گے اور ان کے پاؤں گواہیاں دیں گے ، ان کاموں کی جو وہ کرتے تھے ۔

That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn.

اگر ہم چاہتے تو ان کی آنکھیں بے نور کر دیتے پھر یہ رستے کی طرف دوڑتے پھرتے لیکن انہیں کیسے دکھائی دیتا؟

And if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race to [find] the path, and how could they see?

جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا ہے کیا وہ ان جیسوں کے پیدا کرنے پر قادر نہیں ، بیشک قادر ہے ۔ اور تو وہی پیدا کرنے والا دانا ( بینا ) ہے ۔

Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator.

اور یہ انہی کے نشان قدم پر دوڑتے رہے ۔

So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps.

ابراہیم ( علیہ السلام ) پر سلام ہو ۔

"Peace upon Abraham."

کہ الیاس پر سلام ہو ۔

"Peace upon Elias."

ان کے سردار یہ کہتے ہوئے چلے کہ چلو جی اور اپنے معبودوں پر جمے رہو یقیناً اس بات میں تو کوئی غرض ہے ۔

And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended.

۔ ( میری جانب سے ) کہہ دو کہ اے میرے بندو! جنہوں نے اپنی جانوں پر زیادتی کی ہے تم اللہ کی رحمت سے نا امید نہ ہو جاؤ بالیقین اللہ تعالٰی سارے گناہوں کو بخش دیتا ہے واقعی وہ بڑی ، بخشش بڑی رحمت والا ہے

Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."

۔ ( نہیں نہیں ) بلکہ یہ تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو ایک مذہب پر پایا اور ہم انہی کے نقش قدم پر چل کر راہ یافتہ ہیں ۔

Rather, they say, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps [rightly] guided."

۔ ( نہیں نہیں ) بلکہ یہ تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو ایک مذہب پر پایا اور ہم انہی کے نقش قدم پر چل کر راہ یافتہ ہیں ۔

Rather, they say, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps [rightly] guided."

اسی طرح آپ سے پہلے بھی ہم نے جس بستی میں کوئی ڈرانے والا بھیجا وہاں کے آسودہ حال لوگوں نے یہی جواب دیا کہ ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو ( ایک راہ پر اور ) ایک دین پر پایا اور ہم تو انہی کے نقش پا کی پیروی کرنے والے ہیں ۔

And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following."

اسی طرح آپ سے پہلے بھی ہم نے جس بستی میں کوئی ڈرانے والا بھیجا وہاں کے آسودہ حال لوگوں نے یہی جواب دیا کہ ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو ( ایک راہ پر اور ) ایک دین پر پایا اور ہم تو انہی کے نقش پا کی پیروی کرنے والے ہیں ۔

And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following."

کیا وہ نہیں دیکھتے کہ جس اللہ نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا اور ان کے پیدا کرنے سے وہ نہ تھکا مردوں کو زندہ کرنے پر قادر ہے ؟ کیوں نہ ہو ؟ وہ یقیناً ہرچیز پر قادر ہے ۔

Do they not see that Allah , who created the heavens and earth and did not fail in their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yes. Indeed, He is over all things competent.

جو لوگ اپنی پیٹھ کے بل الٹے پھر گئے اس کے بعد کہ ان کے لئے ہدایت واضح ہو چکی یقیناً شیطان نے ان کے لئے ( ان کے فعل کو ) مزین کر دیا ہے اور انہیں ڈھیل دے رکھی ہے ۔

Indeed, those who reverted back [to disbelief] after guidance had become clear to them - Satan enticed them and prolonged hope for them.

اور زمین سے چشموں کو جاری کر دیا پس اس کام کے لئے جو مقدر کیا گیا تھا ( دونوں ) پانی جمع ہوگئے ۔

And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined.

کہ تمہاری جگہ تم جیسے اور پیدا کر دیں اور تمہیں نئے سرے سے اس عالم میں پیدا کریں جس سے تم ( بالکل ) بے خبر ہو ۔

In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.

ان کے بعد پھر بھی ہم اپنے رسولوں کو پے درپے بھیجتے رہے اور ان کے بعد عیسیٰ بن مریم ( علیہ السلام ) کو بھیجا اور انہیں انجیل عطا فرمائی اور ان کے ماننے والوں کے دلوں میں شفقت اور رحم پیدا کر دیا ہاں رہبانیت ( ترک دنیا ) تو ان لوگوں نے از خود ایجاد کر لی تھی ہم نے ان پر اسے واجب نہ کیا تھا سوائے اللہ کی رضا جوئی کے ۔ سوا انہوں نے اس کی پوری رعایت نہ کی پھر بھی ہم نے ان میں سے جو ایمان لائے تھےانہیں ان کا اجر دیا اور ان میں زیادہ تر لو گ نافرمان ہیں ۔

Then We sent following their footsteps Our messengers and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allah . But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

تم نے کھجوروں کے جو درخت کاٹ ڈالے یا جنہیں تم نے ان کی جڑوں پر باقی رہنے دیا ۔ یہ سب اللہ تعالٰی کے فرمان سے تھا اور اس لئے بھی کہ فاسقوں کو اللہ تعالٰی رسوا کرے ۔

Whatever you have cut down of [their] palm trees or left standing on their trunks - it was by permission of Allah and so He would disgrace the defiantly disobedient.

اور ( ان کے لئے ) جنہوں نے اس گھر میں ( یعنی مدینہ ) اور ایمان میں ان سے پہلے جگہ بنالی ہے اور اپنی طرف ہجرت کرکے آنے والوں سے محبت کرتے ہیں اور مہاجرین کو جو کچھ دے دیا جائے اس سے وہ اپنے دلوں میں کوئی تنگی نہیں رکھتے بلکہ خود اپنے اوپر انہیں ترجیح دیتے ہیں گو خود کتنی ہی سخت حاجت ہو ( بات یہ ہے ) کہ جو بھی اپنے نفس کے بخل سے بچایا گیا وہی کامیاب ( اور با مراد ) ہے ۔

And [also for] those who were settled in al-Madinah and [adopted] the faith before them. They love those who emigrated to them and find not any want in their breasts of what the emigrants were given but give [them] preference over themselves, even though they are in privation. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.

اللہ تعالٰی تمہیں صرف ان لوگوں کی محبت سے روکتا ہے جنہوں نے تم سے دین کے بارے میں لڑائیاں لڑیں اور تمہیں دیس سے نکالے دیئے اور دیس سے نکالا دینے والوں کی مدد کی جو لوگ ایسے کفار سے محبت کریں وہ ( قطعًا ) ظالم ہیں ۔

Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion - [forbids] that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

اے پیغمبر! جب مسلمان عورتیں آپ سے ان باتوں پر بیعت کرنے آئیں کہ وہ اللہ کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ کریں گی چوری نہ کریں گی زنا کاری نہ کریں گی اپنی اولاد کو نہ مار ڈالیں گی اور کوئی ایسا بہتان نہ باندھیں گی جو خود اپنے ہاتھوں پیروں کے سامنے گھڑ لیں اور کسی نیک کام میں تیری بے حکمی نہ کریں گی تو آپ ان سے بیعت کرلیا کریں اور ان کے لئے اللہ سے مغفرت طلب کریں بیشک اللہ تعالٰی بخشنے اور معاف کرنے والا ہے ۔

O Prophet, when the believing women come to you pledging to you that they will not associate anything with Allah , nor will they steal, nor will they commit unlawful sexual intercourse, nor will they kill their children, nor will they bring forth a slander they have invented between their arms and legs, nor will they disobey you in what is right - then accept their pledge and ask forgiveness for them of Allah . Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

اس کے کناروں پر فرشتے ہونگے اور تیرے پروردگار کا عرش اس دن آٹھ ( فرشتے ) اپنے اوپر اٹھائے ہوئے ہونگے ۔

And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].

ہاں ان کی بیویاں اور لونڈیوں کے بارے میں جن کے وہ مالک ہیں انہیں کوئی ملامت نہیں ۔

Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed -

اس پر کہ ان کے عوض ان سے اچھے لوگ لے آئیں اور ہم عاجز نہیں ہیں ۔

To replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone.

ہاں ضرور کریں گے ہم تو قادر ہیں کہ اس کی پور پور تک درست کر دیں ۔

Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.

کیا ( اللہ تعالیٰ ) اس ( امر ) پر قادر نہیں کہ مردے کو زندہ کر دے ۔

Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead?
