In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Shuroo Allah kay naam say jo bara meharban nehayat reham kerney wala hai
अल्लाह के नाम से जो बड़ा कृपालु और अत्यन्त दयावान है।
About what are they asking one another?
Yeh log kis chez kay bary mein poch gach ker rahy hein
किस चीज़ के विषय में वे आपस में पूछ-गच्छ कर रहे हैं?
About the great news -
Us bari khabar kay mutaliq
उस बड़ी ख़बर के सम्बन्ध में,
That over which they are in disagreement.
Jiss kay bary mein yeh ikhtylaf ker rahay hein
जिस में वे मतभेद रखते हैं
No! They are going to know.
Yaqenan yeh abhi jan lein gay
कदापि नहीं, शीघ्र ही वे जान लेंगे।
Then, no! They are going to know.
Phir bil yaqeen inhein buhat jald maloom hojaey ga
फिर कदापि नहीं, शीघ्र ही वे जान लेंगे।
Have We not made the earth a resting place?
kiya hum nay zameen ko farsh nahi banaya?
क्या ऐसा नहीं है कि हम ने धरती को बिछौना बनाया
And the mountains as stakes?
Aur paharon ko mikhein ( nahi banaya ) ?
और पहाड़ों को मेख़ें?
And We created you in pairs
Aur hum nay tumhein jora jora paida kiya
और हम ने तुम्हें जोड़-जोड़े पैदा किया,
And made your sleep [a means for] rest
Aur hum nay tumhari nend ko aram ka sabab banaya
और तुम्हारी नींद को थकन दूर करने वाली बनाया,
And made the night as clothing
Aur rat ko hum nay parda banaya hay
रात को आवरण बनाया,
And made the day for livelihood
Aur din ko hum nay waqat e rozgar banaya
और दिन को जीवन-वृत्ति के लिए बनाया
And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]
Aur tumhary opper hum nay 7 masboot asman banaey
और तुम्हारे ऊपर सात सुदृढ़ आकाश निर्मित किए,
And made [therein] a burning lamp
Aur ik chamkta howa roshan chiragh ( soraj ) paida kiya
और एक तप्त और प्रकाशमान प्रदीप बनाया,
And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water
Aur badlon say hum nay bakasrat bhyta hoa pani barsaya
और बरस पड़ने वाली घटाओं से हम ने मूसलाधार पानी उतारा,
That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation
Atky us say anaj or sabza ugaein
ताकि हम उस के द्वारा अनाज और वनस्पति उत्पादित करें
And gardens of entwined growth.
Aur ghanay bagh ( bhi ugay )
और सघन बाग़ भी।
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time -
be-shak faislay kay din ka waqat mukarer hay
निस्संदेह फ़ैसले का दिन एक नियत समय है,
The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes
Jiss din kay sor mein phonka jaey ga phir tum foj der foj chaly ao gay
जिस दिन नरसिंघा में फूँक मारी जाएगी, तो तुम गिरोह के गिरोह चले आओगे।
And the heaven is opened and will become gateways
Aur asman khol diaya jaey ga to is mein darwazy darwazy hojaein gay
और आकाश खोल दिया जाएगा तो द्वार ही द्वार हो जाएँगे;
And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage.
Aur pahar chaly jaein gay pus wo sarab hojaein gay
और पहाड़ चलाए जाएँगे, तो वे बिल्कुल मरीचिका होकर रह जाएँगे
Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait
Be-shak dozakh ghat mein hay
वास्तव में जहन्नम एक घात-स्थल है;
For the transgressors, a place of return,
sarkashon ka thikana wohi hay
सरकशों का ठिकाना है
In which they will remain for ages [unending].
Is mein wo mudaton tak pary rahein gay
वस्तुस्थिति यह है कि वे उस में मुद्दत पर मुद्दत बिताते रहेंगे
They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink
Na kabhi is mein khunki ka maza chakein gay na pani ka
वे उस में न किसी शीतलता का मज़ा चखेंगे और न किसी पेय का,
Except scalding water and [foul] purulence -
Siwaey garm pani aur ( beyti ) peep kay
सिवाय खौलते पानी और बहती पीप-रक्त के
An appropriate recompense.
( Unko ) pora pora badla milay ga
यह बदले के रूप में उन के कर्मों के ठीक अनुकूल होगा
Indeed, they were not expecting an account
Unhein to hisab ki tawaqa hi na thi
वास्तव में किसी हिसाब की आशा न रखते थे,
And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial.
Aur bebaki say hamari ayton ki takzeb kerty thy
और उन्होंने हमारी आयतों को ख़ूब झुठलाया,
But all things We have enumerated in writing.
Hum nay her ik chez ko likh ker shumar ker rakah hay
और हम ने हर चीज़ लिख कर गिन रखी है
"So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment."
Ab tum ( apnay kiey ka ) maza chako hum tumhara azab bhi barhaty rahein gay
"अब चखो मज़ा कि यातना के अतिरिक्त हम तुम्हारे लिए किसी और चीज़ में बढ़ोत्तरी नहीं करेंगे। "
Indeed, for the righteous is attainment -
Yaqeenan perhezgar logon kay liey kamyabi hay
निस्संदेह डर रखने वालों के लिए एक बड़ी सफलता है,
Gardens and grapevines
Baghat hein or angoor hay
बाग़ हैं और अंगूर,
And full-breasted [companions] of equal age
Aur nojawan kunwari hum omer auratein hein
और नवयौवना समान उम्रवाली,
And a full cup.
Aur chalkty hoy jam sharab hein
और छलक़ता जाम
No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood -
Wahan na to who byhoda batein sunein gay aur na jhoti batein sunein gay
वे उस में न तो कोई व्यर्थ बात सुनेंगे और न कोई झुठलाने की बात
[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account,
( Unko ) tery rab ki taraf say ( unkay nek amal ka ) yeh badla milay ga jo kafi inam hoga
यह तुम्हारे रब की ओर से बदला होगा, हिसाब के अनुसार प्रदत्त
[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech.
( Is rab ki taraf say milay ga jo kay ) asmano ka aur zameen ka aur jo kuch in kay dermiyan hay inka perwardigar hay aur bari bakhsish kernay wala hay kisi ko is say bat chet kerney ka ikhtyar nahi hoga
वह आकाशों और धरती का और जो कुछ उन के बीच है सबका रब है, अत्यन्त कृपाशील है, उस के सामने बात करना उन के बस में नहीं होगा
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.
Jiss din roh or faristy safein bandh ker khary hongay to koi kalam na kersakay ga magar jis say rehman ijazat dayday aur wo thek bat zaban say nikalay
जिस दिन रूह और फ़रिश्ते पंक्तिबद्ध खड़े होंगे, वे बोलेंगे नहीं, सिवाय उस व्यक्ति के जिसे रहमान अनुमति दे और जो ठीक बात कहे
That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.
Yeh din haq hay ab jo chaeiy apnay rab kay pass ( nek amal kerkay ) thikana banalein
वह दिन सत्य है। अब जो कोई चाहे अपने रब की ओर रुज करे
Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"
Hum nay tumhein unqareeb anay walay azab say dara diya ( aur chokanna ker diya ) hai. jis din insan apnay haton ki kamai ko dekh ly gaur kafir kahy ga kay kash!mein mitti hojata
हम ने तुम्हें निकट आ लगी यातना से सावधान कर दिया है। जिस दिन मनुष्य देख लेगा जो कुछ उस के हाथों ने आगे भेजा, और इनकार करने वाला कहेगा, "ऐ काश! कि मैं मिट्टी होता!"
