اے نبی کی بیویو! تم عام عورتوں کی طرح نہیں ہو اگر تم پرہیزگاری اختیار کرو تو نرم لہجے سے بات نہ کرو کہ جس کے دل میں روگ ہو وہ کوئی برا خیال کرے اور ہاں قاعدے کے مطابق کلام کرو ۔

O wives of the Prophet, you are not like anyone among women. If you fear Allah , then do not be soft in speech [to men], lest he in whose heart is disease should covet, but speak with appropriate speech.

اور اپنے گھروں میں قرار سے رہو اور قدیم جاہلیت کے زمانے کی طرح اپنے بناؤ کا اظہار نہ کرو اور نماز ادا کرتی رہو اور زکٰوۃ دیتی رہو اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی اطاعت گزاری کرو اللہ تعالٰی یہی چاہتا ہے کہ اے نبی کی گھر والیو! تم سے وہ ( ہر قسم کی ) گندگی کو دور کر دے اور تمہیں خوب پاک کر دے ۔

And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet's] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification.

اور تمہارے گھروں میں اللہ کی جو آیتیں اور رسول کی جو احادیث پڑھی جاتی ہیں ان کا ذکر کرتی رہو یقیناً اللہ تعالٰی لطف کرنے والا خبردار ہے ۔

And remember what is recited in your houses of the verses of Allah and wisdom. Indeed, Allah is ever Subtle and Acquainted [with all things].

اس کے بعد اور عورتیں آپ کے لئے حلال نہیں اور نہ یہ ( درست ہے ) کہ ان کے بدلے اور عورتوں سے ( نکاح کرے ) اگرچہ ان کی صورت اچھی بھی لگتی ہو مگر جو تیری مملوکہ ہوں اور اللہ تعالٰی ہرچیز کا ( پورا ) نگہبان ہے ۔

Not lawful to you, [O Muhammad], are [any additional] women after [this], nor [is it] for you to exchange them for [other] wives, even if their beauty were to please you, except what your right hand possesses. And ever is Allah , over all things, an Observer.

یقیناً تیری طرف بھی اور تجھ سے پہلے ( کے تمام نبیوں ) کی طرف بھی وحی کی گئی ہے کہ اگر تو نے شرک کیا تو بلاشبہ تیرا عمل ضائع ہو جائے گا اور بالیقین تو زیاں کاروں میں سے ہو جائے گا ۔

And it was already revealed to you and to those before you that if you should associate [anything] with Allah , your work would surely become worthless, and you would surely be among the losers."

بلکہ اللہ ہی کی عبادت کر اور شکر کرنے والوں میں سے ہو جا ۔

Rather, worship [only] Allah and be among the grateful.

پس آپ لوگوں کو اسی طرف بلاتے رہیں اور جو کچھ آپ سے کہا گیا ہے اس پر مضبوطی سے جم جائیں اور ان کی خواہشوں پر نہ چلیں اور کہہ دیں کہ اللہ تعالٰی نے جتنی کتابیں نازل فرمائی ہیں میرا ان پر ایمان ہے اور مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ تم میں انصاف کرتا رہوں ہمارا اور تم سب کا پروردگار اللہ ہی ہے ہمارے اعمال ہمارے لئے ہیں اور تمہارے اعمال تمہارے لیئے ہیں ہم تم میں کوئی کٹ حجتی نہیں اللہ تعالٰی ہم ( سب ) کو جمع کرے گا اور اسی کی طرف لوٹنا ہے ۔

So to that [religion of Allah ] invite, [O Muhammad], and remain on a right course as you are commanded and do not follow their inclinations but say, "I have believed in what Allah has revealed of the Qur'an, and I have been commanded to do justice among you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us are our deeds, and for you your deeds. There is no [need for] argument between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to Him is the [final] destination."

تو اپنے رب کے حکم کے انتظار میں صبر سے کام لے ، بیشک تو ہماری آنکھوں کے سامنے ہے ۔ صبح کو جب تو اٹھے اپنے رب کی پاکی اور حمد بیان کر ۔

And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [ Allah ] with praise of your Lord when you arise.

اور رات کو بھی اس کی تسبیح پڑھ اور ستاروں کے ڈوبتے وقت بھی ۔

And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars.

اے کپڑے میں لپٹنے والے ۔

O you who wraps himself [in clothing],

رات ( کے وقت نماز ) میں کھڑے ہو جاؤ مگر کم ۔

Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little -

آدھی رات یا اس سے بھی کچھ کم کرلے ۔

Half of it - or subtract from it a little

یا اس پر بڑھا دے اور قرآن ٹھہر ٹھہر کر ( صاف ) پڑھا کرو ۔

Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation.

یقیناً ہم تجھ پر بہت بھاری بات عنقریب نازل کریں گے ۔

Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.

بیشک رات کا اٹھنا دل جمعی کے لئے انتہائی مناسب ہے اور بات کو بہت درست کر دینے والا ہے ۔

Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words.

یقیناً تجھے دن میں بہت شغل رہتا ہے ۔

Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation.

تو اپنے رب کے نام کا ذکر کیا کر اور تمام خلائق سے کٹ کر اس کی طرف متوجہ ہو جا ۔

And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.

مشرق و مغرب کا پروردگار جس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں تو اسی کو اپنا کارساز بنا لے ۔

[He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.

اور جو کچھ وہ کہیں تو سہتا رہ اور وضعداری کے ساتھ ان سے الگ تھلگ رہ ۔

And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance.

اے کپڑا اوڑھنے والے ۔

O you who covers himself [with a garment],

کھڑا ہو جا اور آگاہ کر دے ۔

Arise and warn

اور اپنے رب ہی کی بڑائیاں بیان کر ۔

And your Lord glorify

اپنے کپڑوں کو پاک رکھا کر ۔

And your clothing purify

ناپاکی کو چھوڑ دے ۔

And uncleanliness avoid

اور احسان کرکے زیادہ لینے کی خواہش نہ کر ۔

And do not confer favor to acquire more

اور اپنے رب کی راہ میں صبر کر ۔

But for your Lord be patient.

بیشک ہم نے تجھ پر بتدریج قرآن نازل کیا ہے ۔

Indeed, it is We who have sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Qur'an progressively.

پس تو اپنے رب کے حکم پر قائم رہ اور ان میں سے کسی گنہگار یا ناشکرے کا کہنا نہ مان ۔

So be patient for the decision of your Lord and do not obey from among them a sinner or ungrateful [disbeliever].

اور اپنے رب کے نام کا صبح وشام ذکر کیا کر ۔

And mention the name of your Lord [in prayer] morning and evening

اور رات کے وقت اس کے سامنے سجدے کر اور بہت رات تک اس کی تسبیح کیا کر ۔

And during the night prostrate to Him and exalt Him a long [part of the] night.
