سورة المدثر

شروع کرتا ہوں اللہ تعا لٰی کے نام سے جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم والا ہے ۔

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

اے کپڑا اوڑھنے والے ۔

O you who covers himself [with a garment],

کھڑا ہو جا اور آگاہ کر دے ۔

Arise and warn

اور اپنے رب ہی کی بڑائیاں بیان کر ۔

And your Lord glorify

اپنے کپڑوں کو پاک رکھا کر ۔

And your clothing purify

ناپاکی کو چھوڑ دے ۔

And uncleanliness avoid

اور احسان کرکے زیادہ لینے کی خواہش نہ کر ۔

And do not confer favor to acquire more

اور اپنے رب کی راہ میں صبر کر ۔

But for your Lord be patient.

پس جبکہ صور میں پھونک ماری جائے گی ۔

And when the trumpet is blown,

تووہ دن بڑا سخت دن ہوگا ۔

That Day will be a difficult day

۔ ( جو ) کافروں پر آسان نہ ہوگا ۔

For the disbelievers - not easy.

مجھے اور اسے چھوڑ دے جسے میں نے اکیلا پیدا کیا ہے ۔

Leave Me with the one I created alone

اور اسے بہت سا مال دے رکھا ہے ۔

And to whom I granted extensive wealth

اور حاضر باش فرزند بھی ۔

And children present [with him]

اور میں نے اسے بہت کچھ کشادگی دے رکھی ہے ۔

And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life].

پھر بھی اس کی چاہت ہے کہ میں اسے اور زیادہ دوں ۔

Then he desires that I should add more.

نہیں نہیں وہ ہماری آیتوں کا مخالف ہے ۔

No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate.

عنقریب میں اسے ایک سخت چڑھائی چڑھاؤں گا ۔

I will cover him with arduous torment.

اس نے غور کرکے تجویز کی ۔

Indeed, he thought and deliberated.

اسے ہلاکت ہو کیسی ( تجویز ) سوچی؟

So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.

وہ پھر غارت ہو کس طرح اندازہ کیا ۔

Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.

اس نے پھر دیکھا ۔

Then he considered [again];

پھر تیوری چڑھائی اور منہ بنایا ۔

Then he frowned and scowled;

پھر پیچھے ہٹ گیا اور غرور کیا ۔

Then he turned back and was arrogant

اور کہنے لگا یہ تو صرف جادو ہے جو نقل کیا جاتا ہے ۔

And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others].

سوائے انسانی کلام کے کچھ بھی نہیں ۔

This is not but the word of a human being."

میں عنقریب اسے دوزخ میں ڈالوں گا ۔

I will drive him into Saqar.

اور تجھے کیا خبر کہ دوزخ کیا چیز ہے؟

And what can make you know what is Saqar?

نہ وہ باقی رکھتی ہے نہ چھوڑتی ہے ۔

It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned],

کھال کو جھلسا دیتی ہے ۔

Blackening the skins.

اور اس میں انیس ( فرشتے مقرر ) ہیں ۔

Over it are nineteen [angels].

ہم نے دوزخ کے داروغے صرف فرشتے رکھے ہیں اور ہم نے ان کی تعداد صرف کافروں کی آزمائش کے لئے مقرر کی ہے تاکہ اہل کتاب یقین کرلیں اور اہل ایمان کے ایمان اور اضافہ ہو جائے اور اہل کتاب اور اہل ایمان شک نہ کریں اور جن کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے وہ اور کافر کہیں کہ اس بیان سے اللہ تعالٰی کی کیا مراد ہے؟ اس طرح اللہ تعالٰی جسے چاہتا ہے گمراہ کرتا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے ہدایت دیتا ہے تیرے رب کے لشکروں کو اس کے سوا کوئی نہیں جانتا یہ تو کل بنی آدم کے لیے سراسر پندونصیحت ہے ۔

And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity.

سچ کہتا ہو ں قسم ہے چاند کی ۔

No! By the moon

اور رات کی جب وہ پیچھے ہٹے ۔

And [by] the night when it departs

اور صبح کی جب روشن ہو جائے ۔

And [by] the morning when it brightens,

کہ ( یقیناً وہ جہنم ) بڑی چیزوں میں سے ایک ہے ۔

Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions]

بنی آدم کو ڈرانے والی ۔

As a warning to humanity -

۔ ( یعنی ) اسے جو تم میں سے آگے بڑھنا چاہے یا پیچھے ہٹنا چاہئے ۔

To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind.

ہر شخص اپنے اعمال کے بدلے میں گروی ہے ۔

Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained

مگر دائیں ہاتھ والے ۔

Except the companions of the right,

کہ وہ بہشتوں میں ( بیٹھے ہوئے )، گناہ گاروں سےسوال کرتے ہوں گے

[Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other

مجرموں سے

About the criminals,

تمہیں دوزخ میں کس چیز نے ڈالا ۔

[And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?"

وہ جواب دیں گے کہ ہم نمازی نہ تھے ۔

They will say, "We were not of those who prayed,

نہ مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلاتے تھے ۔

Nor did we used to feed the poor.

اور ہم بحث کرنے والے ( انکاریوں ) کا ساتھ دے کر بحث مباحثہ میں مشغول رہا کرتے تھے ۔

And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it],

اور روز جزا کو جھٹلاتے تھے ۔

And we used to deny the Day of Recompense

یہاں تک کہ ہمیں موت آگئی ۔

Until there came to us the certainty."

پس انہیں سفارش کرنے والوں کی سفارش نفع نہ دے گی ۔

So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors.

انہیں کیا ہوگیا ہے؟ کہ نصیحت سے منہ موڑ رہے ہیں ۔

Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away
