In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Shuroo Allah kay naam say jo bara meharban nehayat reham kerney wala hai
अल्लाह के नाम से जो बड़ा कृपालु और अत्यन्त दयावान है।
I swear by the Day of Resurrection
Mein qasam khata hun qayamat kay din ki
नहीं, मैं क़सम खाता हूँ क़ियामत के दिन की,
And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].
Aur qasam khata hun uss nafas ki jo malamat kernay wala ho
और नहीं! मैं कसम खाता हूँ मलामत करने वाली आत्मा की
Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?
Kiya insan yeh khayal kert hai kay hum uss ki hadiyan jama kerengay hi nahi
क्या मनुष्य यह समझता है कि हम कदापि उस की हड्डियों को एकत्र न करेंगे?
Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.
Han zaror kerengay hum to qadir hain kay usski por por tak durust kerdein
क्यों नहीं, हम उस की पोरों को ठीक-ठाक करने की सामर्थ्य रखते हैं
But man desires to continue in sin.
Bulkay insan to chahta hai kay aagay aagay na farmaniyan kerta jaey
बल्कि मनुष्य चाहता है कि अपने आगे ढिठाई करता रहे
He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"
Poochata hai kay qayamat ka din kab aaye ga
पूछता है, "आख़िर क़ियामत का दिन कब आएगा?"
So when vision is dazzled
Pus jiss waqat kay nigha pathra jaeygi
तो जब निगाह चौंधिया जाएँगी,
And the moon darkens
Aur chand benoor hojaey ga
और चन्द्रमा को ग्रहण लग जाएगा,
And the sun and the moon are joined,
Aur soraj aur chand jama kerdiye jaeingay
और सूर्य और चन्द्रमा इकट्ठे कर दिए जाएँगे,
Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"
Uss din insan kahega kay aaj bhegnay ki jagah kahan hai?
उस दिन मनुष्य कहेगा, "कहाँ जाऊँ भागकर?"
No! There is no refuge.
Nahi nahi koi panahgah nahi
कुछ नहीं, कोई शरण-स्थल नहीं!
To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.
Aaj to teray perwardigar ki tarf hi qarar gah hai
उस दिन तुम्हारे रब ही ओर जाकर ठहरना है
Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back.
Aaj insan ko uss kay aagay bhejay huye aur peechay choray hoye say aagah kiya jaeyga
उस दिन मनुष्य को बता दिया जाएगा जो कुछ उस ने आगे बढाया और पीछे टाला
Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,
Bulkay insan khud apney upper aap hujjat hai
नहीं, बल्कि मनुष्य स्वयं अपने हाल पर निगाह रखता है,
Even if he presents his excuses.
Agercha kitnay hi bahanay pesh keryga
यद्यपि उस ने अपने कितने ही बहाने पेश किए हों
Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an.
( ay nabi ) aap quran ko jadi ( yaad kernay ) kay liey apni zabaan ko herkat na den
तू उसे शीघ्र पाने के लिए उस के प्रति अपनी ज़बान को न चला
Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation.
Iss ka jama kerna aur ( aap ki zaba say ) perhna humaray zimmay hai
हमारे ज़िम्मे है उसे एकत्र करना और उस का पढ़ाना,
So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.
Hum jab issay parhlen to aap iss kay parhnay ki perwi kerein
अतः जब हम उसे पढ़े तो उस के पठन का अनुसरण कर,
Then upon Us is its clarification [to you].
Phir is ka wazeh ker dyna hamary zimy hay
फिर हमारे ज़िम्मे है उस का स्पष्टीकरण करना
No! But you love the immediate
Nahi nahi tum jaldi milnay wali ( duniya ) ki mohabat rakhtay ho
कुछ नहीं, बल्कि तुम लोग शीघ्र मिलने वाली चीज़ (दुनिया) से प्रेम रखते हो,
And leave the Hereafter.
Aur akhrat ko chor bethy ho
और आख़िरत को छोड़ रहे हो
[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant,
Uss roz bohat say chehery ter o taza aur ba runaq hongay
कितने ही चेहरे उस दिन तरो ताज़ा और प्रफुल्लित होंगे,
Looking at their Lord.
Apney rab ki taraf dekhtay hongay
अपने रब की ओर देख रहे होंगे।
And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted,
Aur kitnay chehry us din ( bad ronaq aur ) udas hongay
और कितने ही चेहरे उस दिन उदास और बिगड़े हुए होंगे,
Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking.
Samjhtay hongay kay in kay sath kamar toor dynay wala mamla ki jaey ga
समझ रहे होंगे कि उन के साथ कमर तोड़ देने वाला मामला किया जाएगा
No! When the soul has reached the collar bones
Nahi nahi jab roz hansli tak phunchay gi
कुछ नहीं, जब प्राण कंठ को आ लगेंगे,
And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?"
Aur kaha jaeyga koi char phonk kernay wala hay?
और कहा जाएगा, "कौन है झाड़-फूँक करने वाला?"
And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation
Aur jan liya unsay kay yeh waqat judai hay
और वह समझ लेगा कि वह जुदाई (का समय) है
And the leg is wound about the leg,
Aur pindli say pindli lipat jaey gi
और पिंडली से पिंडली लिपट जाएगी,
To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession.
Aj tery perwardigar ki taraf chalna hay
तुम्हारे रब की ओर उस दिन प्रस्थान होगा
And the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayed.
Us ney na to tasdeeq ki aur na namaz ada ki
किन्तु उस ने न तो सत्य माना और न नमाज़ अदा की,
But [instead], he denied and turned away.
Bulkay jhutlaya aur roh gatdani ki
लेकिन झुठलाया और मुँह मोड़ा,
And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride].
Phir apney gher walon kay pass itrata hoya gaya
फिर अकड़ता हुआ अपने लोगों की ओर चल दिया
Woe to you, and woe!
Afsos hay tujhay per hasrat hay tujh per
अफ़सोस है तुझ पर और अफ़सोस है!
Then woe to you, and woe!
Waaye hai aur kharabi hay tery liye
फिर अफ़सोस है तुझ पर और अफ़सोस है!
Does man think that he will be left neglected?
Kiya insan yeh samjhta hay kay usy be kaar chor diay jaey ga
क्या मनुष्य समझता है कि वह यूँ ही स्वतंत्र छोड़ दिया जाएगा?
Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted?
Kiya wo iki ghary pani ka katra na tha jo tapkaya gaya tha?
क्या वह केवल टपकाए हुए वीर्य की एक बूँद न था?
Then he was a clinging clot, and [ Allah ] created [his form] and proportioned [him]
Phir wo laho ka lothra hogay phir Allah ney usy paida kia aur durasat bana diya
फिर वह रक्त की एक फुटकी हुआ, फिर अल्लाह ने उसे रूप दिया और उस के अंग-प्रत्यंग ठीक-ठाक किए
And made of him two mates, the male and the female.
Phir us say joray yani nar o mada banay
और उस की दो जातियाँ बनाई - पुरुष और स्त्री
Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead?
kiya ( Allah Talah ) iss ( amar ) per qadir nahi kay murday ko zinda kerday
क्या उसे वह सामर्थ्य प्राप्त नहीं कि वह मुर्दों को जीवित कर दे?
