ابراہیم تو نہ یہودی تھے نہ نصرانی بلکہ وہ تو یک طرفہ ( خالص ) مسلمان تھے وہ مشرک بھی نہ تھے ۔

Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah ]. And he was not of the polytheists.

سب لوگوں سے زیادہ ابرہیم سے نزدیک تروہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے ان کا کہا مانا اور یہ نبی اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے ، مومنوں کا ولی اور سہارا اللہ ہی ہے ۔

Indeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people are those who followed him [in submission to Allah ] and this prophet, and those who believe [in his message]. And Allah is the ally of the believers.

کیا وہ اللہ کے دین کے سوا اور دین کی تلاش میں ہیں؟ حالانکہ تمام آسمانوں والے اور سب زمین والے اللہ تعالٰی ہی کے فرمانبردار ہیں خوشی سے ہوں یا ناخوشی سے ، سب اسی کی طرف لوٹائے جائیں گے ۔

So is it other than the religion of Allah they desire, while to Him have submitted [all] those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned?

آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ ہم اللہ تعالٰی پر اور جو کچھ ہم پر اُتارا گیا ہے اور جو کچھ ابراہیم ( علیہ السلام ) اور اسماعیل ( علیہ السلام ) اور اسحاق ( علیہ السلام ) اور یعقوب ( علیہ السلام ) اور ان کی اولاد پر اتارا گیا اور جو کچھ موسیٰ و عیسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) پر اور دوسرے انبیاء ( علیہ السلام ) اللہ تعالٰی کی طرف سے دئیے گئے ، ان سب پر ایمان لائے ، ہم ان میں سے کسی کے درمیان فرق نہیں کرتے اور ہم اللہ تعالٰی کے فرمانبردار ہیں ۔

Say, "We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him."

جو شخص اسلام کے سوا اور دین تلاش کرے اس کا دین قبول نہ کیا جائے گا اور وہ آخرت میں نقصان پانے والوں میں ہوگا ۔

And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.

باعتباردین کے اس سے اچھا کون ہے ؟ جو اپنے کو اللہ کے تابع کردے اور ہو وہ بھی نیکوکار ، ساتھ ہی یکسوئی والے ابراہیم کے دین کی پیروی کر رہا ہو اور ابرہیم ( علیہ السلام ) کو اللہ تعالٰی نے اپنا دوست بنالیا ہے ۔

And who is better in religion than one who submits himself to Allah while being a doer of good and follows the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth? And Allah took Abraham as an intimate friend.

سو جس شخص کو اللہ تعالٰی راستہ پر ڈالنا چاہے اس کے سینہ کو اسلام کے لئے کشادہ کر دیتا ہے اور جس کو بے راہ رکھنا چاہے اس کے سینے کو بہت تنگ کر دیتا ہے جیسے کوئی آسمان میں چڑھتا ہے اس طرح اللہ تعالٰی ایمان نہ لانے والوں پر ناپاکی مسلط کر دیتا ہے ۔

So whoever Allah wants to guide - He expands his breast to [contain] Islam; and whoever He wants to misguide - He makes his breast tight and constricted as though he were climbing into the sky. Thus does Allah place defilement upon those who do not believe.

اور یہی تیرے رب کا سیدھا راستہ ہے ہم نے نصیحت حاصل کرنے والوں کے واسطے ان آیتوں کو صاف صاف بیان کر دیا ۔

And this is the path of your Lord, [leading] straight. We have detailed the verses for a people who remember.

آپ کہ دیجئے کہ مجھ کو میرے رب نے ایک سیدھا راستہ بتایا ہے کہ وہ ایک دین مستحکم ہے جو طریقہ ہے ابراہیم ( علیہ السلام ) کا جو اللہ کی طرف یکسو تھے اور وہ شرک کرنے والوں میں سے نہ تھے ۔

Say, "Indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path - a correct religion - the way of Abraham, inclining toward truth. And he was not among those who associated others with Allah ."

آپ فرما دیجئے کہ بالیقین میری نماز اور میری ساری عبادت اور میرا جینا اور میرا مرنا یہ سب خالص اللہ ہی کا ہے جو سارے جہان کا مالک ہے ۔

Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah , Lord of the worlds.

وہ چاہتے ہیں کہ اللہ کے نور کو اپنے منہ سے بجھا دیں اور اللہ تعالٰی انکاری ہے مگر اسی بات کا کہ اپنا نور پورا کرے گو کافر ناخوش رہیں

They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah refuses except to perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.

اسی نے اپنے رسول کو ہدایت اور سچے دین کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے کہ اسے اور تمام مذہبوں پر غالب کر دے اگرچہ مشرک برا مانیں ۔

It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although they who associate others with Allah dislike it.

مہینوں کی گنتی اللہ کے نزدیک کتاب اللہ میں بارہ کی ہے اسی دن سے جب سے آسمان و زمین کو اس نے پیدا کیا ہے ان میں سے چار حرمت و ادب کے ہیں یہی درست دین ہے تم ان مہینوں میں اپنی جانوں پر ظلم نہ کرو اور تم تمام مشرکوں سے جہاد کرو جیسے کہ وہ تم سب سے لڑتے ہیں اور جان رکھو کہ اللہ تعالٰی متقیوں کے ساتھ ہے ۔

Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them. And fight against the disbelievers collectively as they fight against you collectively. And know that Allah is with the righteous [who fear Him].

اس کے سوا تم جن کی پوجا پاٹ کر رہے ہو وہ سب نام ہی نام ہیں جو تم نے اور تمہارے باپ دادوں نے خود ہی گھڑ لئے ہیں ۔ اللہ تعالٰی نے ان کی کوئی دلیل نازل نہیں فرمائی فرمانروائی صرف اللہ تعالٰی کی ہے ، اس کا فرمان ہے کہ تم سب سوائے اس کے کسی اور کی عبادت نہ کرو ، یہی دین درست ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے ۔

You worship not besides Him except [mere] names you have named them, you and your fathers, for which Allah has sent down no authority. Legislation is not but for Allah . He has commanded that you worship not except Him. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know.

پس آپ یک سو ہو کر اپنا منہ دین کی طرف متوجہ کر دیں اللہ تعالٰی کی وہ فطرت جس پر اس نے لوگوں کو پیدا کیا ہے ، اللہ تعالٰی کے بنائے کو بدلنا نہیں یہی سیدھا دین ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں سمجھتے ۔

So direct your face toward the religion, inclining to truth. [Adhere to] the fitrah of Allah upon which He has created [all] people. No change should there be in the creation of Allah . That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know.

پس آپ اپنا رخ اس سچے اور سیدھے دین کی طرف ہی رکھیں قبل اس کے کہ وہ دن آجائے جس کا ٹل جانا اللہ تعالٰی کی طرف سے ہے ہی نہیں اس دن سب متفرق ہوجائیں گے ۔

So direct your face toward the correct religion before a Day comes from Allah of which there is no repelling. That Day, they will be divided.

دیہاتی لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایمان لائے ۔ آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ درحقیقت تم ایمان نہیں لائے لیکن تم یوں کہو کہ ہم اسلام لائے ( مخالفت چھوڑ کر مطیع ہو گئے ) حالانکہ ابھی تک تمہارے دلوں میں ایمان داخل ہی نہیں ہوا تم اگر اللہ کی اور اس کے رسول کی فرمانبرداری کرنے لگو گے تو اللہ تمہارے اعمال میں سے کچھ بھی کم نہ کرے گا ۔ بیشک اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے ۔

The bedouins say, "We have believed." Say, "You have not [yet] believed; but say [instead], 'We have submitted,' for faith has not yet entered your hearts. And if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not deprive you from your deeds of anything. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."

اس شخص سے زیادہ ظالم اور کون ہوگا جو اللہ پر جھوٹ ( افتراء ) باندھے حالانکہ وہ اسلام کی طرف بلایا جاتا ہے اور اللہ ایسے ظالموں کو ہدایت نہیں کرتا ۔

And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah untruth while he is being invited to Islam. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

وہ چاہتے ہیں کہ اللہ کے نور کو اپنے منہ سے بجھا دیں اور اللہ اپنے نور کو کمال تک پہچانے والا ہے گو کافر برا مانیں ۔

They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.

وہی ہے جس نے اپنے رسول کو ہدایت اور سچا دین دے کر بھیجا تاکہ اسے اور تمام مذاہب پر غالب کر دے اگرچہ مشرکین ناخوش ہوں ۔

It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although those who associate others with Allah dislike it.

اے ایمان والو! کیا میں تمہیں وہ تجارت بتلا دوں جو تمہیں دردناک عذاب سے بچا لے؟

O you who have believed, shall I guide you to a transaction that will save you from a painful punishment?

اللہ تعالٰی پر اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان لاؤ اور اللہ کی راہ میں اپنے مال اور اپنی جانوں سے جہاد کرو یہ تمہارے لئے بہتر ہے اگر تم میں علم ہو ۔

[It is that] you believe in Allah and His Messenger and strive in the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That is best for you, if you should know.

اللہ تعا لٰی تمہا رے گناہ معاف فرمادے گا اور تمیں ان جنتوں میں پہنچائے گا جن کے نیچے نہر یں جاری ہوں گی اور صاف ستھرے گھروں میں جو جنت عدن میں ہوں گے یہ بہت بڑی کامیابی ہے ۔

He will forgive for you your sins and admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow and pleasant dwellings in gardens of perpetual residence. That is the great attainment.

اور تمہیں ایک دوسری ( نعمت ) بھی دے گا جسے تم چاہتے ہو وہ اللہ کی مدد اور جلد فتح یابی ہے ، ایمان والوں کو خوشخبری دے دو ۔

And [you will obtain] another [favor] that you love - victory from Allah and an imminent conquest; and give good tidings to the believers.

انہیں اس کے سوا کوئی حکم نہیں دیا گیا کہ صرف اللہ کی عبادت کریں اسی کے لئے دین کو خالص رکھیں ۔ ابراہیم حنیف کے دین پر اور نماز کوقائم رکھیں اور زکوۃ دیتے رہیں یہی ہے دین سیدھی ملت کا ۔

And they were not commanded except to worship Allah , [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion.
